Star Wars: The Clone Wars is an American 3D CGI animated television series created by Lucasfilm Animation, Lucasfilm Animation Singapore and CGCG Inc. On August 15, 2008, the debut film was released in theaters; it served as the introduction of the series. The series made its debut on the American Cartoon Network on October 3, 2008. It is set in the fictional Star Wars galaxy, during the three-year interim between Episode II - Attack of the Clones and Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (the same time period as the previous 2003 Clone Wars series). Each episode has a running time of 22 minutes, filling a half-hour time slot. Star Wars creator George Lucas originally claimed that "there [would] be at least 100 episodes produced"; in total there have been 131.
On March 11, 2013, Lucasfilm announced that The Clone Wars would be "winding down", effectively canceling the series as Lucasfilm ended its contract with Cartoon Network following its acquisition by Disney. The unreleased episodes that had already been produced are referred to as "bonus content". On January 16, 2014, the German television network Super RTL announced their plans to air the bonus content as a sixth season, which consisted of 13 episodes. Season 6, along with the other seasons and the feature film, were made available on Netflix on March 7, 2014.[8]
In July 2018, Lucasfilm announced at San Diego Comic-Con that The Clone Wars would return with 12 new episodes on Disney+. The new season will be the series' final, and premiered on February 21, 2020.

You forgot one important factor. Vader and Sidious have been training too. Sidious: As Emperor, now has access to EVERYTHING. As he says, Unlimited Power. Which means all hidden knowledge at the Jedi Temple, vast resources, and nobody to stop him. Vader: Dark Suit Darth Vader has finally matured. His loss of limbs forced himself to get even better. Anakin never had to train hard. Vader must train and never stops.

I just want to point out that Maul was talking about the two of them defeating Sidious together, not Sidious and Vader. Anakin hadn't gone to the dark side at the time of the conversation, and the only things that Maul said about Anakin, was that he had been groomed to replace Dooku, and that Maul wanted to kill him before he joined Sidious. Maul's argument is that they can defeat Sidious together, destroying a common enemy that otherwise will go unchecked and rise to conquer the galaxy

I will disagree with one thing. Sidious's duel with Maul and Oppress was just him playing with them. Even though Maul might have kept up with Sidious in the 1v1, that was because Sidious was amusing himself...it was a sparring exercise for him. We see this when he overwhelms Maul after the final sabre clench in their fight. He lets Maul get the upper hand for just a second, and then destroys his defense effortlessly. Ironically, this is one of the reasons why Maul could be a threat to Sidious after his escape. He now knows that you can't beat Sidious in a face to face battle. He instead can use his knowledge to attack the things supporting Sidious's rule. If he wasn't so laser focused on Kenobi, he might have been a threat.

Bryce Byerley maul has always been admired by sidious because he is so resilient that he constructed a crime syndicate so large and powerful that sidious knew it was to dangerous to be left up to grievous and dooku and sidious is a better duellist than anyone and all of his duels have been orchestrated but potentially Ahsoka could talk to Anakin as they would have while Anakin was still on the light and then it could be won also Ahsoka was able to match Vader and with maul they’d win also they would know both of their masters plans and power

I’m going to be honest I thing Darth maul is like the best “fighter” in the Star Wars universe. He’s like captain America or black panther or any 100% combatant marvel character like he has it all he has the tactics, intelligence, and skill like he has it all. Vader's power is heavily dependant on his rage. So, when he faces Ahsoka or Luke, he is at the very weakest of his power. But if he faced Ahsoka with Maul he would be super angry. Ahsoka working with Maul? Against Him? And Vader, when angry, is unstoppable. He has done everything from defeat planetary armies, to break Sidious's force wall on multiple occasions, and even force open dimensional barriers that are being held shut by multiple other force users. I like Ahsoka, I love Maul, and both are ridiculously underrated... but so is Vader. And at his peak Vader solo's.

Darth Vader is far more powerful than Anakin ever was but would never be able to eclipse his former potential. The emotional conflict within Vader(and physical damage) limited what Vader could become. Sidious' skills in combat were far better in ROTS but his force powers would only grow. Even a light side Anakin from ROTS could beat Ahsoka and Maul 1v1. By the events of A New Hope, the two would surely die in a 2v1 duel against Vader.

Jay no she’s stronger in rebels due to experience and being tested in combat. Now she may have had more raw force ability in the clone wars before the balance tipped, but her combat prowess and use of force in battle and fighting overall is clearly superior in rebels. Besides her force abilities were stated to be advanced but besides her admittedly impressive precog abilities, she was probably sliGhtly above avg in terms of fighting with the force in a duel

Maul's proven that he has a penchant to play the "long game." From taking over and manipulating the crime syndicates, to even ruling Mandalore for a time, he's quite crafty. While I don't think they could ultimately overcome Sidious and Vader, Maul and Ahsoka, together, would've been a thorn in their side.

But if Ahsola warned Anakin about Palpatine, it would throw a spanner in his manipulations, maybe even saving him becoming Vader. But Sidious would get what he wants eventually. Ahsoka is arguably a better combatant than Savage, and this time around Maul would be using his double bladed lightsaber which he is far more skilled with as opposed to his dual wielding in his fight against a Sidious with Savage. Pair those facts with Maul training Ahsoka to use the dark side, I say they could definitely defeat Sidious.

@@carnage3208 the thing is after reading a lot of star wars and Vader comics, I learned a few things. The more Vader suffers the more powerful he becomes. in a 1v1 fight none stand a chance in a 2v1 fight I imagine the fight to be very close where Ashoka and Maul have the upper hand throughout most of the fight. As long as they attack him fast and finish him fast they can win cause Vader would still be calm and collected. but drag it on for Vader to go apeshit rage mode, than they are in trouble. So I agree with you that Vader isn't unbeatable. In most of his missions, he comes back with a completely damaged suit. So I think the victor is decided in what condition the fight starts, not how the fight itself flows although that is important as well.

I love maul, but most of this beyond Maul being superior to Qui Gon and Obi Wan... simply isn’t true. Anakin and Obi Wan against Savage was a fluke, they had no idea what they were walking into and were not prepared one bit for this enraged psycho. Obi Wan did manage to win and only when Maul saw that they would lose did he get rid of Obi Wan, if he was so much superior to him he would’ve took him out himself. And then Maul being a match for Vader... that... is just not true in the slightest. Maul quite literally states he cannot fight Vader. Let’s also not forget, at the first whisper of Vader’s presence he bolted. He got the hell out of there. When Sidious appeared, not just in clone wars but also son of dathomir, he stayed to fight. Maul is a ferocious opponent but Vader is an unstoppable one. Hell, Sidious didn’t even fear maul, if he did he would’ve brought Dooku and/or Grievous with him to take on Maul and Savage. Vader however... Sidious was TERRIFIED of him. He took multiple precautions against Vader, and Vader proved they were no match for him. When he managed to turn his suit back on after Cylo completely disabled it, damn was Sidious afraid. Mans also opened a whole ass dimension through sheer will. To say Maul, a guy who stood toe to toe with a padawan at his prime, is a match for Vader... is a completely asinine statement.

Maul: Man literally too angry to die

Maul wasn't trying to kill Ahsoka, his offer surprisingly was genuine and when he gains the advantage again, offers it again. Maul is a Sith and Sith fight at their best when filled with rage, fury and hatred(unless you're Sidious where you just laugh the whole time). He had none of this for her. He would have had this for Anakin, who is the Sidious' supposed "key". He also probably wouldn't have given him a fair fight and killed/attacked him on sight. Maul and Ahsoka, if we're to throw out the original movies and all established lore, would have probably bested Vader. They could have done it in Rebels if they worked together at that moment and way more easily if they've been working together this whole time. Maul would have his sanity and someone to grow stronger off of, and Ahsoka would have have grown aswell. Then taking on Sidious would be an easier time, but still i'd think the odds would be against them in a 2v1 "fair" fight, but these 2 probably could just assassinate the dude, being that they're probably masters at hiding their presence now. And because this isn't just a "would 2v2 or 2v1 win" but more of if they teamed up here, would they win... then we can include the obvious that would have eventually met up with Obi-wan and Yoda and the baddest teamup ever to curbstomp some old man would have taken place.

Even if you were superior to Savage in every way and Maul was superior to his past self in every way it wouldn't mean much. Sidious killed 3 Jedi masters at once and matched master Yoda. The only man who has actually beaten Sidious is Mace Windu, and that's because his Vapaad technique is basically the kryptonite of every dark side opponent. Even if it was Maul, Savage and you against Sidious he would still come out of top. Sidious is among the top 3 most powerful Force users of all time. Beating him is not a simple task.

I like your video, but I don't agree. In the future, both Sidious and Vader increase their power and skill multiple times over. Especially Vader who had to retrain himself to fight in the suit. If Vader showed up while Maul was at the Sith temple on Malachor, so I believe Vader would have won. He specialized in killing lightsaber wielding foes. Maul might be a quite challenge, but I still think Vader would take him. His force powers would be much stronger than Maul as Maul is primarily a melee fighter and not much of a force user outside of force choke and telekinesis.

The power levels in clone wars are a bit weird. So apparently Savage was able to fight Anakin + Obi-Wan, yet Maul (his superior) was defeated by Anakin’s former padowan, who still doesn’t quite match his strength.

Savage overpowered them with a surprise burst of rage and it’s pretty clear that he’s just big and strong with no technique. At this point, Ahsoka has been trained by Anakin, Obi Wan, AND Yoda and spent the last several years of her life fighting dark acolytes and in a galactic war.

When obi wan says they’re outmatched by mail and savage, he was already tortured and exhausted. When you see the second duel when obi wan vs the brothers he has the upper hand for the majority of it. I don’t think maul and ahsoka would beat them in a physical fight, but they could cripple the infant empire due to their connections

on the second fight as soon as Obi Wan cuts Savages arm off, Maul takes him out of the battle with this massive force push. Also when Maul and Savage fought against Kenobi and Ventress, he completely destroyed Kenobi. So u can say that Maul and Kenobi are on the same level.

@@giggsi1006n the duel with Ventress, Kenobi (despite being beaten and tortured to the point where he could hardly stand) was winning and even had a couple of chances to kill Maul but chose to save Ventress instead. He only begins to lose when Maul makes Kenobi enraged and unbalanced. This has never worked since. In the duel with Obi vs Maul and Oppress, Kenobi had the advantage for the grand majority of the duel, putting both Sith on the back foot, forcing them on the defensive, pushing them both back multiple times, landing physical blows on each, and eventually cutting off Savage’s arm. The maiming of his brother caused Maul to become desperate and even more enraged, and allowing him to land that massive Force push. It didn’t knock Kenobi out though, as he is up and going in literal seconds. If Maul had kept trying to fight Kenobi instead of retreating with Savage, it would’ve been the end of him. TCW S5 Kenobi is superior to Maul and is even more so by ROTS.

I think it's silly if you think Maul suggested such an idea on just power levels since Maul already knows he can't beat sidious realistically in a duel and if he thinks that all Jedi are doomed anyway, he likely didn't mean attacking sidious or vader head on with ahsoka or just by training together, though I think that could be a small part of it especially like that old guy on Dathomir from Jedi Fallen Order the go to the route of seeking knowledge and from other world's. Mauls best consistent skill is his use of tactics and his brain despite arrogance as seen in his power in consolidation of Mandalore and capturing of Dooku n Grievous in the Son of Dathomir Comic . If him and Ahsoka just teamed up, it would be more realistic that he'd try and lure Vader into a trap by letting one of crime syndicates provide intel to the empire of a Jedi presence somewhere and eliminate him that way attacking him in a way that could damage his suit or something while Ahsoka uses her more diplomatic skills as seen clone wars and setting up a type of rebellion to aid this scheme and later plans to topple sidious. It could still easily fail if Ahsoka trys to talk with Vader as she feels for Anakin and could mess up the whole thing but more realistic. Ahsoka would argue Vader could be captured in his weakened state but Maul made sure he was killed. Maul hopefully if spending enough time under Ahsoka could release some hatred for Obi Wan at least to some degree and become a less evil mostly now just angry almost friend to Ahsoka. Ahsoka meets the star wars rebels crew like in Canon when doing her thing, they might start doing more risky threats to imperial operations. Both could keep trying to build up alliances and armies at the same time to counter the empire holding out for a future strike, Ahsoka making her rebellion ties and Maul likely in his crime syndicates and mandolorian splinter groups and seperatist remnants and other groups he might use his knowledge to search for defeating the empire and no doubt hunting inquisitors along the way and extracting imperial intel. Obi Wan would eventually come out the shadows in the original trilogy with Luke and the original plot only this time Obi Wan won't have to deal with Vader and will likely be able to defeat the new inquistors for sidious. Obi wan however would sense sidous was nearby and tell Luke to run fighting him shortly to buy time for Luke and dying quickly in the process . Ahsoka would confront Leia and the resistance further n then Luke n the OT group will discover Maul and Luke would train under his persuasion to gain some skill while in the rebellion showing him the darker side of the force. They all as a unified force would destroy the first death star and crush empires forces with some unfortunate causalities. The Empire strikes back occurs as normal but Obi Wans ghost warns Luke not to listen to Maul as he will be like Vader by doing so and to find Yoda to be set on the right path. Sidious would view the rebellion qnd even more of a threat eliminating a lot of Maul's crime syndicates making Mail operate even more in the shadows. When Luke later wants to go Bespin to help his friends who been captured by Sidious' new apprentice, Yoda argues against it but Luke leaves and convinces Maul to help to which Maul reluctantly agrees and they after a long duel will suceed and escape. To which sidious would make things a personal matter...

I think that the fans really should give this the proper attention and critical thinking it deserves. We know that Vader and Sidious are massively powerful, but we can't just assume based on hype and feats seen that they are unbeatable or that the likes of Darth Maul or Ahsoka are so utterly beneath them that either Vader or Sidious casually stomp them both. If Vader is already said to be above Sidious in terms of Lightsaber combat and an Ahsoka who has trained herself further from the stages of being a Padawan is able to keep up with him and even outright put him on the defensive at times, imagine her being able to train with Darth Maul? She may have won that battle herself pretty handily. Furthermore, Maul is no slouch either and with someone contending with the ability to contend with Vader may very well be quite capable of taking down Sidious this time. This is a great video that made me really think about things! Thanks for that!

They used mocap and even got Ray Park to reprise his role. Also, they didn't limit the frame rate to 15 fps as is common with fighting sequences to make it look faster and more dramatic. That's why it looks so fluid.

Respect your opinion. However a couple of things: First, Maul is less skilled than Kenobi by the Clone Wars. Kenobi only lost the first time because he was ambushed and tortured before the fight. When he was fighting fresh against Maul and Oppress on Florum he dominates them. Second: There were several moments in the Sidious fight where he was smiling or he was sighing in boredom. He wasn’t even trying. The fight was so loved because we got to see how powerful Sidious is. Third: Ahsoka by the end of the Clone Wars is on the level as Luke in Ep6. A proficient Jedi Knight, but not a true master yet. Most of the lightsaber fights Ahsoka was in during the Clone Wars the enemy was either toying with her or holding back (exempt for Pre Visla) Fourth: By the time of Rebels. I would agree, Ahsoka has reached mastery, only Jedi Masters can go blow to blow with Vader, and she dominates against the inquisitors (they are designed for proficient Padawans to mid level Knights). However, it was still one sided. Every strike that Ahsoka parried, staggered her, and when they locked blades it took her everything had to keep Vader from overpowering her. Final thought: Overall fight between Maul and Ahsoka vs Sidious and Vader would be a complete stomp in either era. Even Yoda was unable to beat Sidious and he was the most powerful Jedi at the time. And Obi Wan admitted that Anakin was the better fighter and he barely won. When Anakin got the suit, he spent nearly every day preparing for 20 years to kill his former teacher. Meaning was preparing for an encounter with Ep3 Kenobi. What the hell does Ahsoka have against that. Based off Rebels buying time for the crew to escape.

It is stated that palpatine hates lightsaber dueling and only pulls them out to have fun in a sense all I saw with their duel is a old man enjoying himself and decided to end it after he got bored. Ashoka is on par with Maul, if not stronger. They are both stronger than Master level, but not quite as strong as Grand Master. Anakin and Obi Wan reached that level in ROTS, where Anakin took down Count Dooku who could goe to toe with Yoda ( Although that Dooku was weakened ) and Obi Wan could take on an even more powerful Anakin. Darth Vader can stomp no diff Master level fighters ( in the comics or for exemple in fallen order, where he casually destroyed Cere who was a Master ) Maul and Ashoka could give Vader a real run for his money but Vader would eventually win

My only thing with the Sidious fight was that he wasn’t trying. He was toying with them and it has been stated Sideious hated Lightsaber Combat and didn’t like to use it. Not to mention the second Sideious used the Force, the fight was a non factor. He threw Maul around, tortured him and used Force Lightning to make sure he knew his place. This could mean Sidious was not particularly skilled in Lightsaber combat, as yes you can be good at something, but unless you actively enjoy it and put effort towards it, you can’t really use it effectively. Meaning that Sidious was basically holding back, using a method of combat he purposely hates, against two people, one of whom he trained, and without using the Force as much as possible. Basically he was fighting with one hand tied behind his back.

Sidious dispised lightsabers because he saw them as absolute when compared to the power of the dark side. But he wasn't stupid. He always carried one around after order 66 and before that he had one hidden in his office in a vase (not sure where the other one was). That being said; he was a master duelist. When he was fighting Maul and Savage he was toying with them like a cat with a mouse. There is only one moment in the fight when it's visible that his power kind of wears out and he quickly gets rid of Maul so he can just go against Savage and can "recharge" for a moment (let's be honest, Savage *alone* is just a snack for Sidious). That is because he is doing the same thing Yoda does: in his advanced age he relies solemnly on the force during a fight. All things considered I think if we team up Ahsoka with Maul against Vader and Sidious, they could give them a run for their money but they couldn't win through a sheer fighting with lightsabers or force. I can imagine a few versions of the fight where Maul/Ahsoka team could win. One on one there are only two people who could defeat Sidious in a duel and that is Yoda and Windu.

Ben17ism those are all really awesome points. I’m only saying, even if he’s a master, he’s still not the best he could be. Like I said, you can be good or even great at something, but if you don’t enjoy it or like it, you’re not as good as you could be. On top of that, Windu was trained specificity to fight Sith plus he was trained by Yoda. Meaning on Paper, Windu has everything he needs to beat Palps, he knows how to use the force and used a form of Lightsaber combat pulled around fighting the sith and trained in that style over the others. Like I said I could see Maul and Asoka putting up a fight, but at the end of the day, I think Vader and Palps would beat them in a straight up duel.

@@dominicmoras4283 I can see Ahsoka wanting to help Anakin if they defeat him, she would be feeling more guilty for his downfall than Obi-Wan and wouldn't have the 'once you step down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny' motto drilled into her head by Yoda. And Ahsoka would really only help Maul just to get rid of Sidious and since the Jedi Council is gone by this point she would be relatively easy to reel back in. Maul and Yoda would definitely be able to kill Sidious if Maul and Yoda (seeing as how Yoda barely lost) if they can put their differences aside, that just leaves Maul as the wild card.

We need to remember that When Ahsoka said Maul was not on Anakin's level, this was before he became Vader, which decreased Anakin's abilities and potential after his loss to Obiwan. So you can argue that Maul in the early Vader years, was more powerful.

I would like to think Maul's reason to team up with Ashoka is a different one. Think about it: What exactly was the purpose of him mindprobing Jesse? It's not really made clear in the episode but you can piece things together: Before, Maul didn't even know Ashoka but wanted to know her significance since she was sent to Mandalore by Kenobi himself. But after acquiring information from Jesse he suddenly wants to team up with her? What could Jesse have told him to warrant such reaction? Well, firstly Maul now knows that she defected the order which would make it easier for him to team up with her as he could assume that she is not as dogmatic as regular Jedi. However, this alone does not make a team-up desirable for him. What else could Jesse have told Maul? Well, obviously that Ashoka was the apprentice of Anakin. This is the information Maul wanted to know, the reason she is on Mandalore in the first place: Her relationship with Anakin and Obi-Wan. We also know that Maul desperately wants to kill Anakin. Now he has Anakin's apprentice at hand. I think he wanted to capture Ashoka to lure Anakin to him and then kill him. This is why he so desperately wanted to know who Ashoka was. He expected Obi-Wan and Anakin but now that this girl shows up, he tries to figure out a way to use her to get to Anakin.

The real question is could have Ahsoka found a way to turn Vader back into Anikin way before Luke did. What if it was Her, maul, and Obi Wahn vs Vader, she wouldn't have left him to die. After that and him knowing his kids were alive then who knows. The real question is what would have happened if maul and Ahsoka joint forces in the chamber when maul offered to. Not to mention if she also told Yoda the Anikin may be turning to the dark side.

I found Maul to be pretty straight forward, actually. It reminded me of Dooku on Geonosis with Obi-Wan. He spoke truth to Ahsoka in that moment. IMO, had they teamed up and taken Sidious down, I don't think he would've been strong enough to replace his former master. Ahsoka would've been too strong.

Short answer is no. Palpatine had full control over the senate and they trusted just about everything he said and did. In the eyes of the average citizen, the Sith were just an extinct group of Jedi who had no real impact on politics, some didn’t even really know that much. Maul exposing Sidious wouldn’t have had much impact because it would’ve been his word against a whole galaxy of people. Plagueis and Sidious planted the seeds so deep that they were going to harvest no matter what.

Maul alludes to why they would win when he says "The time of the Jedi is past. They cannot defeat Sidious". The reason is that Sidious knows the Jedi too well and can see everything coming. Things to consider, 1. Ahsoka points out that Maul was no match for Anakin in their match, this is considering if she's not just trying to unhinge Maul. But the catch is she hasn't seen Anakin fight for over 4 years. Anakin from the time she left hadn't yet integrated form 4 with his Djem So, nor had he allowed the darkside to guide most of his actions. It was after her leaving had he gone grey. This is important since he would become several times stronger in the force without his last tie to the Jedi. So this Maul and Ahsoka are arguably in the same realm of season 5 Anakin. 2. Anakin was trained by practically every Council Member including Yoda and gave those teachings to Ahsoka, because Maul was taught by Sidious in various ways of the Darkside doesn't mean his teaching would been such a notable difference, especially since Sidious doesn't teach everything he knows since the apprentice in Sith culture tends to kill the master. We have to take into consideration that Ahsoka with Anakin's teaching was already bordering Knighthood prior to her leaving the order but she went against a being that masters have struggled with for years, notably Obi Wan. Also take into consideration that Sidious wasn't a better saber Duelist than Anakin, Anakin stood above neatly all the council when he was a padawan, destroyed droids at the same level as Maul which Obi Wan never said otherwise, and only Windu was Anakin's equal in saber skills for most of the war. Sidious was a more powerful force user than Anakin but Saber wise Anakin had no equal by the saber, so if Maul who was predominantly a Duelist could teach Ahsoka anything it wouldn't be with the saber, besides form 7. 3. Darth Vader was holding back, yes he did lie when he said Sidious would spare her, that's is if he allowed Sidious to know; Vader and Sidious were at each others throats which was no secret. Vader could've kept her secret and used her to kill Sidious, it's not the first time he had done such things. I don't think Vader would kill her if he didn't have to because he had a famial bond with her, her leaving wasn't no small deal for him and season 7 proved that Anakin/Vader didn't want to lose her. She did after all bring light to Vader's eyes even if but a moment in the last scene in the Clone wars. I don't think Ahsoka was ever really in Vader's realm, Feats>Statements and Ahsoka lacked the feats. Trumping the inquisitors isn't that big of a feat considering how quickly a young inexperienced Vader trumped them and the Grand Inquisitor hand picked by Sidious. And how Vader would the go face more powerful entities and become vastly more powerful. I frankly think this is a "death of the author" fallacy, especially with how Vader didn't think she was worthy enough to have his full attention which lead to her getting her only notably lead in the match up. I also beg the question of the statement, for Dave merely said "realm of Vader" which is curious since it would imply she's relative in strength with Vader but feats proven otherwise so does this mean instead of relativity it in actuality means that she was greater than any thing/One in the Empire could handle so Vader was sent. This would make sense since Luke was also considered such a threat in ESB.

This video made great points and compared the power differences as effectively as possible. The issue is, at this point in Star Wars canon (not even considering legends), so many powerful events have happened because of each character that this weird paradox is made when considering possibilities like this. Because on one hand, you can compare the existing lightsaber fights in video media like this video, but then as the comments point out, you have comics Vader taking on ridiculous amounts of enemies with ease and more, so surely he's stronger? But THEN, Maul crippled and escaped a Star Destroyer in space during Order 66 completely unarmed. But THEN, Ahsoka took on some of the most powerful people in the galaxy and lived to tell the tale, holding even ground or winning. It's just a merry-go-round of "Well if they did this, then why can't they do THIS?" making an actual solid conclusions really hard to get to.

I think these points underestimate Sideous. His force power is so crazily high and he wouldn't even give them a chance to draw their sabers. He's not dumb enough to play into Maul's greatest strength. I could see Maul and Asoka together being able to 2 vs 1 Vader and kill him, but that's as far as they would get. If they do that however, I could see Sideous turning either of them into his new apprentice.

I think it would actually be easier to defeat the early Vader or freshly fallen Anakin, Anakin beeing arrogant and easily overwelmed by rage (which Maul would defenitly use) and Vader unadapted to his new suit. Defeating Vader alone would be a huge blow to the early Empire, as Sidious needed him to hunt down surviving Jedi and installing order otherwise.

No, I don't think so. Sidious was toying with Opress and Maul, I think. And while Ahsoka performed well against Vader, as you find out later in Season 4, Vader was about to kill her and I think ultimately would in a duel.

Good arguments. Basically you can sum it up with one line though- Sidious, himself, in the cold light of day, all cards on the table, described Maul as having “become a rival” to himself. Fact is before Anakin was conceived, Sidious picked Maul. He probably wouldn’t pick an apprentice with more potential than he (Anakin was just too juicy), but he definitely intended Maul to be his weapon against the Jedi. Which meant Maul had to have at least the potential of a Council Master- probably much higher. Jinn was a Jedi Master, well above the standards to be on the Council himself, AND trained by Dooku. Even Dooku himself, close to the best duelist alive at the time, described him as a “skilled animal”, having never seen him even on video. And Maul was only in his mid twenties, at best. By the time he fought Sidious he was only in his mid thirties- his Force powers still weren’t at their peak. Add in Mauls knowledge of the Sith and Sidious, Ahsoka’s of Anakin, Mandalore (see KOTOR to know why this is bad) and the cartels (strong enough to remain sovereign between the Rep and CIS both), and they would be a legitimate threat to Palps. He’d know his plans, his store rooms of relics, he’d know Palps is hiding his identity and use it against him (like criminals robbing places in the day while Wayne can do nothing and they avoid Batman). Ahsoka needs no introduction. She tangos with Vader, Maul, Ventress, Dooku, Grievous, etc. She’s a powerhouse. She knows Vader’s command tactics, thought patterns, and combat styles more than anyone. Hell, if Padme died, she’d probably have them both set up shop on Naboo, knowing he’d never find them there. Way it boils down is this. Sidious and Vader outmatch them directly. But our generals don’t win wars in fistfights with other generals. They could possible have done it, given time to train, picking their battles against the empire (primarily raiding Sidious’ relic rooms), and pumping up the forces of Mandalore. The cartels would give them almost as much information as Sidious had, which would be key. Easy plan of attack. Lure Vader out with a claim of Jedi. Ahsoka arrives, distracting the hell out of him. Maul and Ahsoka together, with surprise, advantage of terrain and enemy tactics, and a squad or nine of full Mandalorians, could probably win. Vader down, Sidious begins a full on war- if he even knows how Vader lost, he might honestly believe it was Yoda or Kenobi finishing the job. Surprise him in his public with a bunch of mercenaries and Mandalorians, deprived of his relics and and see what sticks. Quite possible.

I think his plan was to get Kenobi to help him kill Anakin once he revealed he was destined to turn to the dark side. However, if he allied with Ashoka first, theoretically they'd take on Anakin, kill him and possibly recruit Obi Wan to destory Papatine. Assuming all the Jedi who died in ROTS still die, then Yoda, Obi Wan, Ashoka and Yoda would all be left to stand against Palpatine. They'd destory him. This is all assuming Maul is able to convince any of them to help him.

Vader before putting on the metal suit was unstoppable. It's stated many times in lore that the suit nerfed him. If they fought him shortly after he got the suit on then they'd wipe the floor with him. Anakin without the suit was deliberately very OP and memes aside he lost to Obi-Wan because he allowed the fight to go on long enough that Obi-Wan could figure him out and find a position to break his pattern. I believe it's canon that Anakin would've won the duel against Obi-Wan had he not messed around in the beginning and WANTED to kill him rather than prove a point so badly. He wanted to flex his power to his old master, his obsession with this cost him everything. So no, in Episode III there's no chance in hell of Maul and Ahsoka together stopping Vader. Palpatine would wipe his ass with them.

In a 2 v 2 fight, no I don't think they'd stand a chance. But as a thorn in the side to the Empire, challenging the Empire strategically at key points and key targets, they could have done some serious damage. I even felt like in Rebels, when Maul asks for the group's help because he couldn't defeat Vader alone, if he actually stuck to that and fought Vader alongside Ahsoka, they would have stood a really good chance of defeating him.
