Exoplanets are planets that lie beyond our solar system. Thousands of them have been found by humans, and it appears that some of them could hold the perfect conditions for human beings to live on. Could they really be habitable for humans and is it possible to reach them?

Y'all could really do without the obnoxious background music. Couldn't finish the documentary.

I always like to fall asleep listening to videos talking about space related topics and when the music is to loud or playing while people are talking it really kills the vibe

I like the music. It’s essential to me. Especially if I’m falling asleep. The only way I wouldn’t care about the music would be if a hot chick in a bikini was doing the narrative.

Just curious, what is your age? I've seen this same comment on a lot of videos lately. I'm 39 and the music doesn't even cross my mind while watching. Most people who answer are under 25. It would be cool to understand why background music is so bothersome to young people that they can't watch the video

They're way, way, way too far out there. There's plenty of space and material in our own solar system to build habitats here for the next 30,000 years.

No, we are causally disconnected from them until we learn how to manipulate space-time at which point we probably won't need to worry about our planet anymore. Time is just a direction where the "lines" never intersect. We only perceive it as being one direction but it is immutable from the rest of reality and gravity has a strong influence on it just like everything else. every possible permutation of matter and energy that can exist in a single point in space-time does so because the subatomic is basically just probabilities pre-loaded into space time like transistors in a computer hard drive ready to run code and turn it into meaningful information.

The unfortunate answer; so far, is no. There are no exoplanets; that we know of, that is close enough to reach with our current technology. We need to focus on improving human existence on our planet so that we have the opportunity to maybe get a chance at, an attempt, at another one. Realistically speaking? We’re on a cosmic island that is ideal for life as we know it. Hopefully we can learn to appreciate our Mother Earth properly before it’s too late. Humans have a relatively short history. I think we’re capable of space exploration, but we need time to learn and adapt.

We would have to bug them with viruses bacteria way before we go down then we would have to create all manner of anti meds. Sorry folks just can't park the spaceship in the alien space port and hop out waving shouting "Hi Alien people er all life, ops ... sorry we wiped you all out".

1 Corinthians 15 1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 1 Timothy 6:20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

No. For an exoplanet to be a viable alternative to Earth, we first have to develop interstellar travel, and ships large enough to build a self-sustaining colony. We're probably a thousand years away from something like that.

@minirock000 It would help, yes. And if the planet in question already has life, we'd have to destroy it in order to establish our own ecology.

@@audiofile8833 If we could recognise life I would like to think we would leave it be. Perhaps that is when our space agencies would be justified in keeping secrets from us. These scenarios will likely never play out because we will kill ourselves before we ever leave the solar system.

Remember that major news article that put human flight 100 years out, like a month before kitty hawk? Less than 100 years before the moon landing?
@audiofile8833
@audiofile8833 4 ай бұрын
@jaytotheareokay No such Human heavier-than-air flight took place well before the Wright Brothers. Otto Lilienthal beat them to the punch by at least 10 years. As a matter of fact, the Montgolfier Brothers beat the Wright Brothers by a century. All that said, spaceflight is far, far different. The fastest spacecraft in the Solar System, NASA's Parker Solar Probe traveled nearly 400,000 mph. Which sounds fast, until you realize that light travels 186,000 miles per second, and 400,000 mph is just 111 miles per second. That's slow. Too slow to be feasible. I explained all that to explain this: the closest star system to our own is Proxima Centauri, and it's over 4 light years away. Nearly 6 trillion miles. I could go on and on, but I hope you get the point. Interstellar travel isn't going to be a thing for a long, long, time. Mankind has only stepped foot on the Moon a couple of times. We've never even left our own gravity well, yet.
