I have not seen the movie, but even only by hearing this worldbuilding-point who draws very strong from the "Magic and Science NEED to be seen as opposites"-trope, i can see some parts where there could have been put more thought into the world... Your video was very interesting and made some good points. And funny enough, now i really want to watch this movie! (Sorry for the bad English)

No worries at all! And also, ABSOLUTELY watch this movie! It’s absolutely amazing and deserves way more love than what it got, since it came out just as the first lockdowns happened 🥺 But yeah it could have been tweaked a bit more. Still, the overall quality is not hindered by it! Also, glad you enjoyed the video! And glad to see i temped another soul in watching the full flick 😈😉

a year late but I really admire your ability to critique a film you clearly enjoyed! I also just liked the video overall, had a lot of good points. Urban/Modern Fantasy is my absolute favorite genre, and I do wish the movie had a more solid world to play around with, but hey, what can ya do

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! 😁 Also, I know right? Urban Fantasy is one of my absolute ideal genres/settings/scenarios, alongside superheroes, and any chance I can see something like it I’ll adore. When they announced this back in the day, I was hooked by the concept alone and figured there was no way I couldn’t enjoy this on some level. And yet… I had no idea I would absolutely fall this much in sheer love with it. It’s such a shame and tragedy no one saw or remembers this cause it came out just as COVID hit. But still, despite its small flaws as mentioned in the video, it really is just an amazing film! And frankly more movies should be made having fun with this. And yeah this also could have played a tiny bit more, but honestly it did such a good job with the characters and the ending that everything else is super worth it and I always recommend it to everyone. It’s become criminally underrated
