Could South Africa win Miss World this year?

There are many strong candidates from Africa but I don’t think SA has managed to make her presence felt in comparison to Nigeria , Botswana, Kenya among a few. I won’t be surprised if she didn’t place if there’s only 20 slots available

To answer the question...No. Dr Claude is smart, beautiful and confident but she is poorly styled and presented by the organisation in such an outdated manner that she simply does not register on the radar. This can be somehwat overcomed by an oomph factor but unfortunately that is just not there.

Dr Claude won't win Miss World....I don't think Miss World South Africa is putting in the work,Yes this lady is graceful intelligent ,good speaker and poised but her PR & wardrobe is giving low budget....I'm rooting for Lesego Miss Botswana

I wish the first runner up was crowned Miss World South Africa she would stand a chance to win the crown. As for Dr Mashego no she won’t win she won’t even advance higher.

Most of the time South Africa sent a runner up to Miss World like 2017,2018 and 2019 so that's why they didn't place. As for Shudu, she is undoubtedly beautiful but she was competing in year when MW has such intense competition. And just because you didn't place that high for few years ut doesn't mean you will stop sending contestants. You cannot end the years of relationships.

Shudu is incredibly beautiful and a captivating speaker,she definitely deserved a higher placement,top 12 at least.Claude is great,I'd be shocked if she doesn't place,regardless of her styling.

Miss World from being the leading beauty pageant has become a total shambles ! I’ve been a fan for years since the early 70’s & always supported Miss South Africa entrants & cheered their winnings or placements! First shocker was when Vera John’s win as Miss SA disqualified her from going to Miss World because she was originally from Rhodesia (aka Zimbabwe) & then all the other amazing Miss SA winners who couldn’t compete due to the social boycott! How stunning was Karen Sickel ? Or even Wilma Van Der Byil or Suzette Van Der Merwe ?

As to MW placements - Miss World has had amazing winners and placements. Karolina is my favourite winner in a long time. Up there with Rolene, Megan Bata and the evergreen Aishwariya Rai. I am sure Aish will make an appearance at the event along with some other Indian past winners.

Unfortunately far too late ! And no real exposure since her crowning took place ! There are far too many better representatives from Africa for Miss World ! Miss Zimbabwe , Miss Nigeria & Miss Kenya ! But my firm favourite is Miss Botswana even topping my other favourite Miss England!

An emphatic "NO"! Dr Claude Mashego is a fantastic contestant,an impeccable speaker as South African delegation in international pageants is renowned for their great speaking abilities & her being a medical doctor is another added advantage. Having said so,her being a black African native limits her chances of winning. Miss World has ONLY crowned a black African ONCE in its 70 years history. The furthest a black African native could reach is the runner-up level. It is actually sad how racially discrimatory & untransformed most pageant are. Especially against black African women. For e.g,Dr Ade Van Heerden, represented SA in 2017. She was a runner-up to Demi Tebow,Miss Universe 2017. She reached top10 & co-won the BWAP segment. But we are told that Madam Julia does not like runner-ups being send to Miss World pageant. Claude will certainly be placed mainly because she is very strong contender,but she won't win & neither will ANY of African contestants. Madam Julia will reward the new Miss World SA license holders with a placement as she is probably still disheartened by being abandoned by the Miss SA organization 😅😅😅

Having said that please be fair and equip yourself with South African heritage, for a person who continuously mentions RSA as her ‘home country’ I’m disappointed. When you described the rain queen your tone and narrative was not inspiring, to say the least. Please research the rain queen, not the outfit but the history behind it. NB: Love Tharina without downlow discrediting Claude.
