Josina really desrves her flowers. She really killed it with all the coaching carousel breaking stories. She was getting insider info from all over the league , even before Shefty. Josina is one heck of a sports journalist.

💯% ... she's always been the best.

She honestly is one of the most respectable and most honest reporters imo.

I love it. This new type of offensive position can be like an execution producer on a movie or TV show. Not hands on, never interferes with the director aka the OC, but the backbone that guides and keeps all on track. Great video, vision, and innovative thinking Ian!

I heard somewhere that Tanner called plays for numerous years at college level? If so, is he like Brock Purdy who had yearS of college reps at QB vs Zach Wilson who did not?

I completely agree we need a senior offensive assistant…I’m good with Peterson I think he would bring some aggressive to our offense plus experience he will tell you what’s good and what sucks…I’m good with Frank as well he would beneficial because he worked with a lot of different QBs

They still vacancies on the staff. So there certainly will be more hires. However, to your point, there probably should be a substantive hire, specifically on offense like a Haley, Pedersen, or Reich.

Pedersen played QB as well ... managed to be in the league 12-13 years as a backup

Despite his past, Gruden could be a good option for Offense Advisor role. What are your thoughts on this Ian?
@mitflairСағат бұрын
It would make me feel better with the offensive staff and with Glenn if they brought some experience in to h guide them long the way. At least for the first year I wanted and experienced staff in the first place. Im happy with the Wilks though.

I would hope she is right. I have a lot of respect for AG, I think he has done things right. That said, working under great coaches is huge,but in the end it comes down to did AG ingest everything he saw and turn it into his own? One of the problems with coaching tree is the idea working for a great coach automatically translates. Belicik is proof of the fallacy of this, none of his tree has done well as a HC, I think because a) belicik is not a teacher, in part bc I suspect he can't teach what he knows b) that they tried to imitate him, rather than make it their own. Saleh worked for Shanahan, yet he really failed as a HC, i think he tried to imitate shanahans surface style but didnt get the depth. I also get the feeling,unlike AG, that Saleh was stubborn and wasnt listening. Having experience around can act as a safety blanket, that as HC they are there if it goes south, plus it gives them the freedom to try new things. Saleh coached afraid to make a mistake, if you have an old hand there , you kind of feel like it is okay to make mistakes, cause they will be there to help figure out what went wrong. I am concerned about the O side. I dont know the oc from adam, but i see some things i worry about. The lions passed him over for an experienced oc. Was that bc detroit is win now and they felt like this guy wasnt ready? Was it they felt he wasnt really an oc? Does he have this chip on his shoulder and on trying to prove himself, and do stupid things? He might not like it, but having an experienced o coach who can evaluate what is going on and help the oc or give AG a heads up can be huge ( and yes, it is delicate, OC might feel like old pro is a spy or looking to take their job). The other reason to have experienced coaches around? It helps dispel the boo birds,with ' new hc, new gm, green coaches, this is saleh 2.0'. This is seriously a problem, you know damn well if the Jets have a tough start to the year the fan base will be all over screaming this is same old Jets, green coaches who dont know what to do.
