As inspiration for the biggest media properties on the planet, comics are the present and future. As an industry with standardization and protections for workers...it's more like the Wild West.
Cartoonist Steenz and writer/editor Camilla Zhang are looking to get the ball rolling - and inspire a new wave of comics creators - with the Standard Comic Script.
Today on Flyover Culture, I sit down with Steenz and Camilla to find out why a standardized script is such a big deal, and where the industry could go next.

It's interesting to see this video as an art collage student who's studying comics. You see, I go to one of the schools that Steenz mentioned in the video, and I am in the comics program there. Indeed, earlier this semester, when we were talking about writing comics scripts we were told to either go with the Standard Comic Script or... I think it was DC's house format that was the other option. Anyway I went with the Standard Script and it is what I also used for the current comic I am working on.
