Its so nice to be able to watch/listen to a podcast show that understands the importance of having the best possible audio quality for the listeners. I am about ready to call it quits on so many of the other local shows and just listen to Locked On Blazers because Mike delivers consistent high quality shows.

Yeah, I just can’t get onboard with Clingan. At best, he plays the backup minutes to Ayton? We don’t need backups. We need high upside swing for the fences moves.

Blazers really need to get the next two drafts right. I have my favorites for this June but I have no idea if im right or not. Blazers don't have that luxury. They need to nail it even if the picks take 2-3 years to develop. Not sure if it makes sense to move up to get Clingan...I'd probably try to get Risacher if Blazers are wanting to move up...but I may be wrong. Holland and Salaun seem to be promising high-motor players. I have concerns over Williams motor. Clingan, Topic and others might be good players but I'm not sure either makes a ton of sense unless you ship out existing players.

I don't think Clingan would be a bad pick. But they lost me at the words "trade up". Chomche is a big guy I think the Blazers should get. They can probably trade down for him.

Blazer better served moving back and drafting Edey.
@MojoMan0078 ай бұрын
Perhaps the Blazers are looking down the road to playoffs possibilities of meeting up with Chet and OKC or Wemby and the Spurs, not to mention the Bucks, Twolves, Jokic, et al. Someone at least 7 feet tall must guard these dudes for any decent defensive efficiency in the paint. The L-T status of the present centers can't be banked on. Moreover, when you're fielding the league's worst defense, what have you got to lose? How many chances will you get to draft a real 7-footer if you don't do it now? #7, #3, whatever it takes. I'm in!

@ccthree3298 ай бұрын
@@LockedOnBlazers Yep but Edey playing D by standing there is better than Klingon trying to move around in the long run, not to mention Edey can rebound and score by simply standing there. Imagine if he works on moving around some.

@jonathanevers8019 Ha, The big Taco has no shooting touch or passing skills however compared with Edey who is in great condidtion. If Edey was a lousy shooter I'd agree with you to a point. Dude is 7'4 in a weak draft and was college player of the year not to mention the tons of rebounds available in a 3 happy league both on offense and defensively. Just imagine at times playing alongside Ayton, 3 guys heaving up 3's and all the first 2nd and even 3rd chances till one goes in. Plus Edey is a good foul shooter.
@ccthree3298 ай бұрын
@jonathanevers8019 Well if you wanna do that then imagine Jerami Grant playing iso ball while Clingan just kinda watches and the announcers talk about his never ending "potential"

You need bigs with speed and agility in today's NBA. I'm not seeing that with Clingon. He looks like a guy that will get in trouble on switches and wont be able to get out of the paint to free up our drivers. If they bring him in, then maybe they see something I'm not seeing. This week we should get a good idea who they want to get.
@jamesdonaldson73968 ай бұрын
Portland will have to take Williams at 7 if they want him. He'll be gone before 14. I wouldn't mind seeing them consolidating their second-round picks for another first, if possible, and going after Deron Holmes.

I think we're better off trading for Spur's 8 than Rocket's 3. I could imagine Spurs taking 14, 34 & 40 for 8 or 4. And that would be a lot better for us than giving 7 and 14 just for 3.

Hopefully this is just talk. Trading up for cling is a bad idea. Even taking him at 7 is an iffy move. I’m hoping this is a move to get the trade vibes going. Clingan got abused by Edey. Some say he’s Rudy Gobert. Rudy Gobert got sauced in the playoffs.

You said it, Mike. Edey is special. Is Clingan? His health is a concern. Eday will make every team that passes him by regret it. Will Clingan? These are all good questions. I have Edey rated higher.

Best option is to draft best player at 7 and Edey at 14. Or trade the picks to move up into top three. Trading 7 & 14 for #3 is like trading Coulibaly and Hawkins for Scoot Henderson last year. Seems like a no brainer. Neither Coulibaly nor Hawkins did much last season and Scoot flashed his potential. Of course pick #2 was Miller and #1 was Wemby. This year, you don't have the quality as last year. I see Sarr, Risacher, Clingan, Topic as quality picks. So if the Blazers want quality, they are going to have to trade up. Sarr is going to cost #7 & #14 plus another first. Risacher is going to cost #7 #14 and a second. Rockets would probably take #7 and #14 and throw in their second round pick #44. Not bad to get a top three pick and have two hit or miss picks in the second round.
