This purchase was initially awesome, from order to delivery to unboxing, and for two months was phenomenal. Then, the sleep analysis functionality had failed. After numerous requests with tech support, all I have received is lip service, and those responses usually take a couple weeks each time. It’s always, “I’ll nudge the tech department”. Pininfarina will need better engineering with this product, along with better customer support. Fortunately, I had an outside insurance policy that covered this, and the watch was sent to them, providing a full refund. This watch was a beauty and I am very sad to have lost it. Unfortunately, when the manufacture fails to honor it’s 2-year repair/replacement policy and the timepiece is having major problems, there can only be one choice. Unless you’re a gambler, I can not recommend this watch at all.

This is a very well done review! It gave me answers to some of my questions about this watch, which I had previously sought in vain on the dedicated website for it, as well as on the manufacturer's website and on the companion app developer's website. Interesting review here Sam. I’ve never worn a Smartwatch or a Fitbit. This looked quite appealing to me to start off with as I’m a big Panerai fan so am attracted to the look. The screen doesn’t give a massive amount of information by the looks of it compared to a dedicated Smartwatch. More activity / health orientated stuff with weather and a camera you say! I don’t think that the lense quality will be good enough to replace your phones camera? Being connected to an APP on your phone I guess that you get a much better view of what’s going on with the Watch. The battery life indicator needs addressing by the looks of it as you would have to charge it regularly to avoid it going flat on you. I like the idea of a hybrid style Watch to avoid wearing two devices and as I mentioned I like the Panerai look of this. The price seems well gauged and isn’t too expensive. This kind of Watch could convert me to the Hybrid format if it had a few more features on the APP like mapping as you mentioned. A solid review here Sam. Great work as always! ✊

Good point, I may not have been clear on that part. It actions the phones inbuilt camera. Like a remote shutter release!

This is a nice looking watch if you like this sort of TV Dial. It's a 1st generation product and you can tell due to how clunky some things operate. If the style isn't a must for you, I would go with something like the Withings Scanwatch. It's much more polished and it's a well known company. It's also costs less.

I did research and the watch seems to have an Airplane mode, can you confirm this? Do you also know if it does sync data into Apple Health? Thanks

I prefer hybrid watches that go all in and either give you a full digital screen with analog hands or display everything with mechanical dials and hands. I have a Fossil hybrid that has a small seconds looking dial like this one, and that dial is used to either show what reading the minute and hour hands are showing or total steps. I do like the look of this one, but I think the screen is too small.

It’s still going strong! I got sent another smart watch so I switched to that. Nothing wrong with the pegani. I likely won’t review another apart watch it’s just too involved

Really nice. Love my watches, but I find I wear my smart watch almost all of the time now. A “ proper “ watch when I go out, but since I don’t go out that often, my watches are seeing a lot of drawer time. I like the metrics, my steps, heart rate, sleep patterns. I like having a stop watch, and alarms, always available. I like how I no longer have to count how many lengths I’ve done at the pool. I don’t have to worry about it being stolen, as they are cheap to replace, and let’s not forget, they are very good at telling the time, day or night. Smart watches pose of more existential threat to the traditional watch market, than I think the quartz crisis ever did. Look what young people are wearing. Look at the age profile of the YT watch influencers ( no disrespect Sam, I’m 61 😮). The cost of flipping a mid tier watch, never mind a luxury watch, would keep you in smart watch for decades. And, I know I’m shallow, but you can change the watch face to match your mood or outfit. Good review though Sam. Thank you.

Hey Ray! Yep totally get that, this one was interesting, I may keep it for a bit and see how I get on. It feels solid, I will swap the strap out. I’m going to be doing another ‘smart’ watch very soon. Still fighting the system though, it’s not one with a full colour display

I'm still not convinced by hybrid watches. I certainly wouldn't want to double wrist a hybrid and a mechanical watch. I'll stick to a fitbit and a proper watch I think.

@@NomadByNecessityIt's not the sensor, it's the whole idea of a hybrid. I am now used to wearing a fitbit on my right wrist. I can wear a "proper" watch on my left wrist as I have done for many, many years. Right now there isn't a hybrid that I like as much as my other watches. There is a lot to like about them if you want a 2-in-1 device but I find the double wrist thing more to my taste.

Hey! I really don't know nothing about watches nonetheless about hybrid watches! So I'm looking for a analog hybrid smartwatch where if the battery dies the analog watch still keeps running without smart features. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Anyone who has spent time with the sports portion of this watch knows how broken this watches software is. For example if you select bicycle and go for an hour or two on you bike, the app will start tracking your path, but after long pressing to exit the sport tracking, the activity will never upload to the app. This issue doesn't happen with all sports though. It seems the issues is only present where your path is mapped. I am almost 4 months in with the watch and it still hasn't been fixed. The app is the issue and it is horrible. It will never get better as this company will never have the income to warrant any decent investment into the software. They should have just worked on integration into other apps, but sadly you will not find this product listed in any of the sport tracking apps out there. I would stay away from this watch unless you just want a simple health monitor and time reader. The worst thing about this company is that they removed their Amazon product page as it had a lot of bad reviews regarding software. They brought the product back to Amazon with a clean review page without fixing a thing. Horrible practices.
