The fried bread that you made looks delicious! My mother use to make fried bread the same way as you, (as my grandma also did.) My grandma brought this way of cooking from “The Old Country”(as she would say). Everything that you do, everything that you bake, and your precious grandmother, makes me feel so close to my ancestors who are from near where you live (about 400 miles away). @@brecruz4832 in other countries it's different being in the army. In this case Ukraine was a society just like Australia who believed it wouldn't happen. City's were operating as normal. As a result of the sudden invasion, many volunteers exist to serve their country and the country is on its bones, it relies on international assistance such as Australia 🌏🦘 has assisted with special army vehicles and some monetary aid. In saying this I worked for veterans in Australia called DVA. It's a very very very expensive exercise paying soldiers and medical expenses plus all other war related expenses. Why I'm saying this is, who knows what and when they get paid let alone leave. It's called an 'active war' service and currently it's reactive mode, meaning unpredictable in every circumstance. I 🙏 pray as a believer for him and his family to be divinely protected by the blood of Jesus and his archangels

Reminds me of the small village in my country of birth and origin, mum and dad (RIP) lived humble lives, worked the land, grew their own foods, tended to the few animals, went to church on Sunday attended activities, social and festive events in the small village community of approximately 180 people, peaceful, carefree, harmonious and happy! What happened to those great old days? Moving to a western country changed all that! Though I'm truly proud and grateful for the life I had growing up in my country of birth and for the new life in my adopted new country, I would love to go back and experience that life before I die, we migrated when I was 7 years of age with my mother and my now 2 deceased siblings. At 64 years of age now I have have 3 children of my own and I won't leave them for the old country or anything! So to Katya I understand you're life though not in its entirety but I have a good idea and in a way envey you and the lifestyle you live! All the best to you Katya, huge fan keep going girl! I like these videos! No smalltalk, only important deeds to take care about the home. Nearfood, you can see how the meal is prepared. Very much similar than my summers in 1960’s on a finnish farm. The farm was mainly self sufficient. Butter and cheese came from the diary, coffee and sugar was bought from the village shop. The food was prepared on the wood stove and my grand mother baked the bread using a similar oven. When I look your videos, the simple and good life of my youth come to my mind! Just like in your video, in the spring the firewood for the future season was made. The birch tree was regarded as the best. And like you I regard the birchbark the best material to set the fire. People live far away and yet the basic things are very much similar! I wish You and Ukraine God’s blessing and the strength to fight.

Watching Katya work with i think maybe her father makes me think of helping my dad get firewood for the woodstove, hay for our ponies and water for our ponies, it was my favorite thing to do woth him.

If you save the vegetable scraps and onion skins and boil them in water and strain you have a nice broth for breakfast. Rub your eggs with grease or oil and they will stay good in a cool place for almost a year. If you grind the wheat berries lightly, simmer in milk for breakfast you get delicious creamed wheat. The cut root end of the vegetables, put the root side only down in a pot of dirt and the vegetable will regrow.
