Dave, this is such a great song. The first time I heard it I cried like a baby because of my dad. He is 93 now and I am hoping to get to see him one more time this side of heaven. You have many songs I enjoy listening too. Thank you Dave. You know my son Willard Ferguson that got me listening to you.

Moving , heartfelt lyrics and a superbly performed tribute to your father. RIP. And, of course, the presence of the inimitable Jordanaires testifies to the esteem in which you are held, Dave, on the other side of the Atlantic as well, of course, as in England.

Hi Dave, this beautiful song genuinely brought tears to my eyes. My own father died after a dreadful cancer battle, aged just 46. In fact you knew him - Terry Kelly Of Reading Estates property agents in Tilehurst. I was a budding guitar player back then and my dad said he'd let out the flat above his office to a friend of yours who wanted a bit of seclusion to write some new songs. My dad told me to go upstairs and say hello and it was John Walker from the Walker Brothers!!!!!! I've told this story a hundred times across my life and no-one believes me! May your dad rest in peace.

Thanks for the positive feedback Joe and so sorry to hear about your dad - remember my time growing up in Reading with affection - by dad died when he was 51 and I was 20 so I never really got to know him as an adult - also a victim of Cancer - stay safe buddy
