At the beginning of the clone wars and during ep 2 and before dooku was at his strongest cause if you didn't know dooku got weaker over the clone wars while anakin and mace got stronger over the clone war and the reasons why dooku was getting weaker was cause in ep 2 before ep 2 and at the start of the clone wars count dooku aka darth tyrannus was a legit threat to palpitine so sidious would make it to where dooku would grow tired of being the public sith villain of the clone wars and would grow weaker do to his over usages of the dark side of the force at such an old age and as a result of being the well known villain for the last 3 years of their war they constructed he would inevitably grow tired and therefore grow weaker and why sidious did this was cause 2 reasons 1 whenever sidious found out how dooku vs yoda went at the end of ep 2 he was shocked struck with fear and baffled by how strong dooku truly was and the fact he never noticed just how strong he truly was now until dooku and yoda fought at a standstill is what really bothered him to the point where for the 1st time he had an apprentice who was better than him in lightsaber combat and who was for a time a threat to him in the force cause how strong he became when becoming his sith apprentice and 2 dooku simply became a sith at too old of an age and that went hand in hand with sidious's plans he had for dooku but It also must be said that if dooku really started to defy his sith master and realize who sidious truly is and what his intentions really were instead of trusting him as much as he did to the point where he wouldn't have gotten weaker so he could be killed by anakin then he would've either overthrown darth sidious with assaj ventress, savage oppress darth maul or quinlan voss

Dooku spanked Obi Wan with ease every time they fought. Fisto would give Dooku a harder fight than Obi Wan, though he'd also lose. Obi Wan is too vulnerable to force attacks, which Dooku can exploit if he fails to defeat him in sabre combat. The best Obi Wan could do against Dooku is use Soresu to defend against lightsabre attacks until Dooku resorts to using the force to throw him about. Obi Wan doesn't really offer any attacking threat to Dooku. Whereas Fisto's fury would be of concern to Dooku who struggles with high intensity attacks and while I think he could use his experience and Makashi's natural advantages over Shii Choo to eventually defeat Fisto, I think it's a fight he'd struggle with. I also think he'd struggle against Plo Koon more than he would against Windu as Plo's mastery of Djem So is ideal for defeating Makashi, which is also how Anakin defeated him. Obi Wan could defeat many of the jedi that would do better than him against Dooku but those same jedi are better equipped to take on Dooku for various reasons. Having said that, I think Dooku would be the likely winner against all jedi other than Yoda, peak Anakin and maybe Plo Koon. Even Windu would probably lose to Dooku, though that's a tough call.

In the Cestus Deception, Obi Wan and Fisto had a practice duel and Fisto massively outclassed Kenobi and was the superior swordsman by Obi Wan's own judgement. While I never said Fisto would defeat Obi Wan, because Obi Wan did improve further after that duel, it was still after AOTC and after Obi Wan became a master. So he wasn't that far from his peak. So even if Obi Wan had now become superior to Fisto its unlikely to be to the extent that he would defeat him "easily". Fisto is supposed to be one of finest of the order. I think Obi Wan could defeat him, but not easily.

Yes . . . but only after Sidious told him to hold back and not fight to kill Anakin. By the time Dooku actually started fighting seriously, he had already goaded Anakin into a berserker rage and he had accidentally ceded the advantage. Dooku was better in every conceivable way, he just made a mistake that cost him the battle. Plenty of Star Wars duels depict a young upstart unseating an older and more powerful and established master. Maul killed Qui-Gon, Luke defeated Vader (who was admittedly not fighting at peak performance due to his feelings and desire to convert his son), and Anakin slew Dooku. It's a cycle. Or, as George would so eloquently put it, "It's like poetry, it rhymes."

Vaapad can transform Mace's negative emotions in power and strength. Mace's style has strong attacks, and extremely fast movement that will counter Makashi. Makashi has a weakness against Vaapad cause of strong physical attacks. Windu will win because of that, but fight really will be hard

He was beating Dooku so bad by the end of their duel, Dooku could barely block Anakin’s strikes without exhausting himself. In answer to your question: -Anakin is much more innately powerful than Yoda, actually, he’s the chosen one, though it’s true that this is their potential -Knightfall Vader is often considered a better lightsaber duelist than Yoda, or at least comparable -Anakin and Yoda are level 9 duelists in Episode 3, Dooku is only level 8, thus Anakin > Dooku by Episode 3 -Anakin’s lightsaber form, Djem So, has a huge kinetic advantage against Dooku’s Makashi style, even if they were at the same level, which they aren’t. -Dooku was never really equaling Yoda, and was overwhelmed by Yoda’s style throughout their duel. -Anakin and Dooku fought many times during the Clone Wars, Dooku significantly struggled handling his powerful, aggressive lightsaber style even then and was almost defeated by Anakin at multiple points, resorting to help or his force powers to make sure he could beat Anakin So yeah, Anakin claps Dooku, just like he did in the movie. He actually doesn't. Dooku only fought Yoda twice in Legends. In the first engagement, Dooku had already defeated Obi-Wan and Anakin and was left visibly winded by the affair. He then waged a titanic duel with Yoda which resulted in him stalling long enough to escape. That's not something that would happen if Yoda was so far above him. In the second, Dooku was amplified by a crystal that was imbued with Sith magic. There, Dooku nearly killed Yoda multiple times, and the old lizard survived only because he was able to last long enough for the crystal to drain Dooku and the Count still got away. Dooku was only equaled by Mace Windu, and he was only beneath Yoda and Sidious. And even that gap was not enormous.

Dooku is above the entire Jedi Council (save Yoda and Mace) and is stated on multiple occasions to be one of the most powerful and intelligent Jedi and Sith in galactic history. As for the amplification, it was a decent amp, but he was beating Yoda hard. Like I said, Yoda only managed to outlast him, as the Sith crystal was draining Dooku's energies while Dooku was also using the Force. Basically, his candle was burning at both ends and gassed himself out by trying to take advantage of the extra power. Yoda was on the defense that entire time. That's a feat not even Sidious can claim, as Yoda was on the offense his entire fight with Sidious, and the advantage didn't shift to the Dark Lord's favor until he whipped out the Force. As for Sidious strangling Dooku, that was over a hologram and distance does not effect the Force (with someone at the Master level) as long as the user can visualize the target. It's not a display of power. Also, Dooku had his telekinetic defenses down that entire time. Dooku is not on the level of Yoda and Sidious, but he isn't so far beneath them that they can instantly crush him.

Also saying Yoda was on the defense the whole time is disingenuous considering that when Yoda went after Palps he had fully intended on killing him because at that time he was the only one who could defeat him and after order 66 he was too dangerous to be captured. On top of that Yoda knew the clones would be coming as back up soon so he needed to finish Sidious off quickly. At any rate, Dooku was far beyond Maul as both a duelist and a Force user. He would fold Maul in less than a minute, and Savage Opress would make little difference. Dooku was Mace's equal in Legends and remains so in Canon. He was a legendaey duelist and master of the Force, and in both continuities is held as one of the greatest Jedi and Sith in Galactic history on the level of greats like Mace Windu, Revan, Exar Kun, and so on. Yes, Yoda went into his fights with Dooku with the intent of capturing him, but he always had to fight at his best to actually keep pace with the Count. He never had to not try with Dooku, and it always ended with Yoda nearly dying and Dooku escaping. As for Yoda and his fight with Sidious, yes Yoda was trying to be quick and knew the Coruscant Guard would be coming. But, the fact remains that if you watch the fight and read the book Yoda was on the defense the minute Force abilities took prominence, as he was too slow to mount a proper offense. In his fights with Dooku and Sidious you can clearly see that against equals (or at least near-equals) Yoda struggles with mounting an offensive with Force abilities because he is so slow. He's a teacher and not a fighter. He could have easily fixed it with training and refinement, but was simply disinterested. Which makes it a decently large black mark against him. Anyway, that's why he was using his lightsaber to compensate. He can't mount a proper offensive with his Force abilities when faced with those who are on his level. Dooku is on that level.

Dooku was ordered to throw the fight, and didn't take it seriously until he had goaded Anakin into one of his berserker rages and had lost the advantage he had on Anakin. Anakin won because he brute-forced his way through Dooku. He wasn't better, he just got lucky and Dooku miscalculated. I'm not underselling Anakin either. That's what happened. The only reason Skywalker came out on top was because he got that last-minute 'roid rage.

Wrong sidious in novel which Is cannon and also stated In legends that sidious feared dooku and knew 1000000% that dooku was the better duelist, especially after his duel with yoda where in the novel dooku had yoda on the back foot at one point and yoda disarmed sidious in combat, dooku was better than sidious, Lucas even placed dooku above sidious in his list of the best duelists in Star Wars history and if that and what novels say then I’m not sure where your information is coming from

@@pipoj5 actually some are, yes they are. When Lucas was in charge there were two novels he read and said they were cannon and based on what he saw. Now that Disney took over only 2/3 novels are cannon and those two still have dooku as a superior duelist than the whole counsel, with yoda being the only person on par with the count. All three novels did but one is considered legends only due to the fact that the book went against what disney wanted for the relationship between dooku and yoda. What little connection they had left.

But as time progressed, dooku got older and so did sidious, which he eventually surpassed dooku. Goerge Lucas even stated the Mace beat Sidious fair and square in the duel and would have killed him had anakin not stepped in and betrayed him. We can honestly go back and forth all day citing sources of which one is better, because we have so much material that some of it is conflicting.

From my (rather limited) understanding of the series, if we're talking straight lightsaber duels, then this is about accurate, but Kit Fisto, Plo Koon and Obi-Wan would go higher I think, to where Plo might actually win (high diff), Obi-Wan and Kit Fisto would be high diff each. But if we're also taking force abilities into account, then Plo Koon probably still wins, but Obi-Wan goes down to low-mid diff and Kit probably also goes down to mid-high diff. From what I've seen, Obi-Wan as a duelist is about as skilled as Dooku, but the form he's most adept in (Soresu) has a disadvantage against Dooku's Makashi and his defenses would eventually be shattered. It would probably take a long time though. However in the Force Dooku completely outmatches him. L'm not sure about Saesee Tin, I read somehwere that he's relative to Kit Fisto. If that's true then he also is mid-high diff. I could be completely wrong here though lol

Nah knightfall Anakin made mistakes due to him getting over his head Dooku would've actually beaten him with Anakin in that state of mind as Anakin knightfall was technically weaker than at the start of rots due to tunnel vision with force rage which he wasn't use to. It did catch the other Jedi's off guard tho but it wouldn't with the likes of Dooku as even Obi-Wan was able to abuse this trait on Anakin.

His master is not as skilled swordsman as Dooku is, sure his master is stronger overall because of his force power and abilities, but in pure saber skill he is weaker and Mace used Sidious's own dark side power against him while Dooku fights without any dark side rage or powers, just rarely uses lightning, Mace is not defeating someone more skilled on saber than Palpatine and at the same time uses less dark side than Palpatine. Mace really needs his enemy to rely highly on dark side in order for Mace to win

Yes, Dooku was past his physical prime, but the fact remains that his age and experience granted him more benefits than being in his prime ever did. His lightsaber skills, tactical sensibilities, power, and Force abilities were at their zenith during his tenure as a Sith Lord. This is him at his best. As we have seen plenty of times, age for a Jedi or a Sith can be overcome by a well-developed and powerful connection to the Force.

Obi wan in his prime could beat doko. I agree that yoda in the clone wars takes doko in that time extreme diff. I dont think that doko beat's anakin extreme diff because every time they faced in the clone wars doko destroyed anakin so i believe doko win mid-high diff. Dooku in the other hand shows no emotions and is completely calm, also he was the top tier lightsaber duelist even before becoming sith, which means he was very skilled as jedi to be the strongest lightsaber user or one of the strongest among the jedi.
