Count Filtered Rows With this Easy Formula

In this short video, I will show you how to count filtered rows in Excel with a simple formula using SUBTOTAL.
While this cannot be done using regular COUNT functions, the SUBTOTAL function allows you to ignore the filtered rows and only count or sum the rows that are visible after filtering.

Excellent teacher! So, lets see if u mind helping me with this: I have 100 rows. I want data on the 1st row moved to the 100th row, ,data on the secon row to the 99th row , 3rd row to the 98th row, 4th to the 97th and so on- all the way until the bottom row (100th) ends up on the 1st row.

Hey Sumit! I have a query pivot table query and I am very hopeful that you can help me out. Considering I have a source fact table containing 4 columns namely "Sr. No.", "Emp No.", "Departments" and "Amount", in columns A, B, C and D respectively. Assumptions: 1. Say the Admin department has 3, the accounts department has 7 and the HR department has 15 employees; and 2. I have placed the "departments" field in the "filter" section of the pivot table. Now what I want is if I collapse the filter and select HR, I want it to show me a dynamic auto-changing serial number column i.e., starting from 1, 2, 3 till 15 (because HR has 15 employees). Alternatively, if I select accounts, I want it to show me dynamic serial numbers column i.e., starting from 1, 2, 3 till 7. I mean each time I select/filter a department from the pivot table, the serial number in a separate column should begin with 1 and go so on. (I hope I have made my query clear, if not please revert) Kind regards Your MS Excel student
