Sorrel is also a popular drink in Mexico. We call it “agua de Jamaica” which translates to water of Jamaica. I never knew the origin of the drink so this is very cool to see

Alec wen u pick the fresh Sorrell wear gloves and don't touch ur skin until u thoroughly wash ur hands. The fine fuzz on the surface of the seed will stick to ur skin and scratch the hell outa u.

Alec some persons boil it with the seed or just strip the petals off the seeds. Boil the sorrel with, ginger, orange peel, cinnamon, clove and star anised.

The dry Sorrel organic is the best, it can last for years and it can be fermented as a wine. The fresh has to be done and sweeten very sweet to keep it.

Too little Sorrell for the amount of water., that's wat caused it to be weak but I must say u did a good save by mixing the old with the new. For that sized pot you needed 4lbs Sorrell. The dry Sorrell is also very good it's more concentrated.

My mom told me that the sorrel should be steeped in a glass or ceramic container because the sorrel cut away from other containers, like how Coke or Pepsi cut rust. So that might have been what affected the taste because you seem to have done the right thing. Anyhow, happy holidays.

You can save the sorrel seeds Alex and dry then inside the seed are some small ones that you will dry them and and plant if you have plant them.
