Wait--you've got a screen printing company AND a record label?! Too freakin' cool. Is the music in your intros, outros, and throughout your videos music from your label? Looks like 2024 was great reading year! Some of these books I'll definitely have to track down from your list.
@TheBookGraveyard10 күн бұрын
Yep. But I haven't put anything out on the label in like 4 years so it might be done. It's incredibly expensive. The music on my videos isn't from my releases. I have everything set up through a distributor for digital streaming on other platforms so hilariously if I use my own stuff on my videos it will get flagged as copyrighted material. That Panic book was so good. After I recorded this list I was like, that thing should have been higher.

@@TheBookGraveyard Haha oh, the irony. Yeah, I've gotta find an affordable copy of Panic! It sounds right up my alley. Also, the shirts look awesome! I might have to pick one up. I've thought of doing shirts at some point as well

Nick's hypothetical daughter: "Ugh! Dad, there's this stupid guy at school who won't leave me alone! What should I do?" Nick hands her an old copy of Jirel: "Sweetheart, have you ever heard of the Black God...?"

Rogue Agent almost sounds like a placeholder title before they found the REAL, cool, badass name

Ha! That's how I felt about the main character also. Like maybe in the second one their going to introduce us to the real spy hero.

Love all the vintage covers! I read War Against the Mafia this year, the first executioner, it was cheesy but fun lol. I also read The Night Stalker, enjoyed it too. Happy New Year! 🎊

What 9 Princes in Amber offers is freedom...the ending reminds me of the opening chapters of the Count of Monte Cristo.

I remember when I made the post about us doing the group read about it you had said how much you love that series. I'm going to give it another shot. Sometimes this just don't click at first. When we did the group review of the book one of the other reviewers mentions the Count of Monte Cristo. I had never read it so I didn't notice. Thanks for commenting David!

The Lew Archer books get better but never mind blowing. They’re probably not pulpy or trashy enough for you to really enjoy them.
@TheBookGraveyard10 күн бұрын
haha I don't just like pulpy and trashy Duncan! I love a good classic PI novel. I have other Lew Archers and do intend on reading them.

Keep that sun off your book spines or you're going to be sorry, Nick. Great reviews, as always. I keep noticing the copy of Booked to Die behind you. Have you read that? I recommend it heartedly although suggest you skip the sequels.

Stiv! Man, this is why I need the older book collector guidance. Now that you mention it it's like, duh. I haven't read the Booked to Die yet. Sounds like it will be moving up in the rotation.

I would like you to read HUNTER AT LARGE by Thomas B. Dewey from 1961. Also I want you to read THE FABULOUS CLIP JOINT by Frederic Brown from 1947. Why not? I’m a nice person and won’t steer you wrong. Start off your New Year right and don’t read crap.

@ProfessorEchoMedia haha well I do already have The Fabulous Clip Joint so I'll read that one soon. All I've heard is really high praise for Fredric Brown.

@ You won’t go wrong with any of my recommendations because I understand that life is too short to waste it on evil and snobbery and uncomfortable shoes. So follow my advice and you shall soar! Or at least sleep well and often!
