Counterboring with 3-D Fast Cut | Tech Lab Tuesday

This episode of Tech Lab Tuesday goes into detail on how to use the MGA-MIC Setting Micrometer to set up your cutter for counterboring. Dave Monyhan then steps up to the Guide & Seat Machine to demonstrate the cut.
Keep in mind as you watch that the head he is working on has very hard seat alloys.

Great video. Have a question on valve seat driver when buying a seat driver do they fit snug to the id of the seat are do they fit loosely.

Hi Tony, your question is a good one! According to our tech department, the answer is "both." Speaking specifically about our valve seat drivers, they are made to cover a range of sizes, for example 1.000" to 1.125", so depending on where within that range your seat fits you may have a snug fit or a slightly loose fit. That tool wobble and chatter will never allow the valve to seal.
