If you know anyone that might be interested in editing videos that is also somewhat knowledgeable of competitive games such as The Finals, Overwatch, Smite, Deadlock, or really any others that's even better.

I just started playing this game this week. I play a medium-support character with a healing beam and things like flashbangs and am using the Famas. Lights can counter this build easily if you aren't careful. A few things I've learned to stay alive. Number 1. Do not be predictable. If you peek from the same spot after going to cover instead of changing positions, you make it easier for lights with high dps weapons to burn you. Use cover and stay away from open spaces and relocate and attack from a different angle. This is really useful against snipers. If caught a few with their pants down and managed to kill them for my team. Number 2. Use your ears. You can often hear an enemy and where they are roughly. This has saved my skin from lights several times. Number 3 Know when to hipfire and when to lock in. Firing from the hip and using janky movement while heading into reverse, timing my three shot bursts has made it so I have a decent chance to beat a melee light in a 1v1. Do not let them close the distance without fighting tooth and nail for every square in of space between you and their weapon. At the same time, you might need to pull off a lot of damage quickly on a retreating light, meaning you want to scope in, unless of course scoping in loses you LOS on the enemy. Never lose sight of the enemy light if you can help it. Fire from the hip if you need to do it to keep him in your sight.

As a heavy main I always run motion sensor with flame thrower and I love seeing lights run when they are in it!

Understanding how a light plays is huge. I figured it out eventually. I’ve been having great success with mines. I try not to expose myself to bait them in. Then I mine the areas I think they will retreat. If they manage to slink off the RPG can usually catch them. Flamethrower absolutely melts light… especially if you toss a mine at their feet.

As a sword user I believe the way you counter a light is knowing the team got a light & detect them first. I believe as a light it is easier to wipe teams or atleast kill 2/3 just because of movement alone but if I other team is familiar that this team have a light sword it becomes a bit hard

Shotguns or Flamethrower for lights without dash. Fast weapons vs lights with dash just have good aim.

As an aggressive light players the fights are 50/50, depending on placement and movement. There’s good runs and terrible ones, only because of not smart choices.

A bonus: if you’re running zip or are nearby a longer zipline when facing a melee light, if they chase you when you’ve attached the zip, you can look backwards and deal some damage or get the elimination. You can also jump on and off the zip in different directions and reattach to make yourself a harder target if you’re being picked off. Works against any class 1v1 being chased, as long as they don’t remember to break the zip I had a flame heavy chasing me and used the zip back and forth to avoid damage and was able to prolong the fight

Totally off topic, but for my entire life a lot of games had "Meta" and father time has proven to me that it doesn't mean anything. Players with enough heart and passion will always surpass the "meta" One great example is in the pro super smash bros Melee community, Amsa (Yoshi) completely DOMINATING Mang0 (Fox/Falco)

Thermal vision, it's a utility on light players. You can detect those even through smoke.

Why are videos about to counter L And no how to counter mediums and heavys, since the H is te class who most wins games in all elos, and the L is the lowest win rate? I play all classes but i hate the turret spamer mediums, or the flametrower winch claw H, most than any L player by far (except snipers in powershift) for example I dont get it why the comunity hates L players, when the game graphs tell you the L is the most weak class

Very surprised that neither winch or motion sensor didn't get a shout-out here. Yeah, range of winch and cooldown is something that makes it unreliable, but paired with any of the close range weapons will stunlock and setup a light for an easy kill. Couple that with the frankly INSANE range the motion sensor has now, making a whole room immune to cloak/vanish bomb users? I love playing light just as much as I love playing their hard counters lmao

Idiotproof strategy is to stick to your team. Most Lights like duels but not teamfights.

Basically lights win duels so you gotta play like you're scared and stick with your team and then hope that you can hear footsteps because the audio in the finals sucks but most likely you won't so when you get stunned/attacked pray that your teammates will turn around and help you.. which likely wont happen if uve got light teammates.. and if it's a melee light attacking you, just hope they optimize the game so you don't have to aim at 70 fps lag spikes at a guy who dashs around and only has to walk by you and let melee aim assist do the rest. I love the finals but the game can be a hot mess.

He said the opposite actually, Lights don't win duels, you can't win a duel if you have hp or less than that of your opponents. They are the ones who are scared and hide, look for better angles or try to surprise you. You have the health advantage also better weapons this season that can easily counter lights. Lights are very weak this season, just learn the game and have some awareness. This isn't Cod.

The class encourages a selfish playstyle in a TEAM GAME. If you want to pick light, go do it in quick cash or whatever. Don't ruin my ranked game by grappling into a 3 stack and rage quitting or picking a sniper rifle and wonder why you're 0-10 and getting carried.
