My Saturday nights and Sunday morning soundtrack of my life.

Glad to see you guys are still around. "Color blind" was so great in cruel intentions. I have an awesome story for yall. One time I was driving home and I felt the presence of Jesus come down and he got right by me. I started getting chills and I felt so comfortable with him. I knew if I asked him to play any song he would. So I said "Ok Lord, play Come as you are by nirvana..." I turned on my radio and the song began right on the spot, perfectly. I started getting flooded on the inside like a waterfall of chills by the Holy Spirit and started crying. I got home and he stayed with me for 10 minutes til I got out of the car. Since then, I've been getting answered prayers for nearly 5 years. Many involving other people. I know many other people who get answered prayers. Praying in Jesus name and following the Biblical instructions.

For me it's the reverse, Counting Crows have been around my entire life. I remember hearing Mr Jones, A Long December, and Hanginaround on the radio as a little kid, as well as Accidentally In Love from Shrek 2(which has one of the greatest soundtracks ever). The memory of those songs led me to buy Films About Ghosts and then the rest of their albums, which became a quintessential part of the soundtrack to my teen angst. Now I'm an adult and they remain one of my favorite bands ever!

I just "fell out of music" for a period in the late 2000s and early 2010s and lost touch with a lot of music. About a month ago, I randomly thought of a Counting Crows song, and I realized I hadn't listened to them in years (I *think* I own "Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings"), so pulled them up on Spotify. I fell back in love with the band. Then, after Adam was on JRE, I went back to listen and watch the video for Mr. Jones and realized: it was from 1993. The year I started college. No wonder I listened to them so much. They WERE my college soundtrack. Every girl I though back about from high school, every moody walk I took trying to figure out where my life was going, all of it was in August & Everything After. And, I won't even go into how many times I listened to the Unplugged set. So, huge thank to JRE for putting Adam on and bringing me back to the band I became an adult with. Looking forward to getting back to what I used to listen to, what I missed since, and what's coming on the new stuff.

I love this! When I first heard the songs it was as if the Counting Crows universe inside my head shifted like in the movie Inception. New meanings and pathways were created, the relationships between lyrics and musical themes morphed. Everything was different and yet so familiar. Now that I see the video, it adds another dimension. Just like the Palisades Park video did for that song, the Butter Miracle Suit One video fills in some of the blanks, it colours in some meaning and it strengthens the ties to what was before.

I m here after I listened again yesterday after more than 20 years the album August and everything after . Ages. I remember in the 1999 me as a young guy with all the difficulties to settle in work and circumstances and that's where Mrs Potters especially was kicking... a repeat in my ears. I had a kind of fit of nostalgia yesterday thinking at that, music has the power to bring you back to remember old times. There is always a piece of Maria in every song, true, happy that I found out this band is still rocking.
