Saw them in Madrid in 1994. Absolutely amazing show. Didn't have a ticket but was given one by an American dude walking by with a group of friends simply asking "Hey man, do you want a ticket?". Eternally greatful.

I understand, Michael. Spice it up! I'm a fan of that. I just didn't feel his 'vibes' went with the music. Slow the band down at least. For example, Have You Seen Me Lately is so fun & then he performed an acoustic which sounds just as great. I just didn't feel like he meshed this one together well. I can not argue with you, Kordax. He is great & beyond talented I just think he could have thought this one through a little more. Like I said, the concert was great, I just personally didn't care too much for the way the song was played out.

@cielant9 жыл бұрын
+Vinícius Buzzero Not just you, bro! I also feel like, I don't know, he is kind of talking away the songs more with all these interjections. The music is forceful, the vocals are kind of revealing a deep routine, bored by having ever sung all these songs a few times too many. I really adore Adam, but…sometimes it just doesn't feel right.
@Codfisher778 жыл бұрын
+Vinícius Buzzero With respect guys, I can't understand why you'd want to watch a band live if all they do is a bland, carbon copy version of the studio recording. For me, it's the improvised, soulful changes they make from the originals that make the CC's such an awesome band to see live - particularly the bits they slot into Rain King. The first time I heard Adam sing the first couple of lines of Thunder Road sent shivers up my spine.... and it still does, every time I hear it!
@thisdesertlife048 жыл бұрын
+Codfisher77 Me too! I love how EVERY SINGLE PERFORMANCE is different. I'd know. I've been to so many! I've been trying to get my hands on a boot from the best show of theirs I've ever seen - HOB Chicago April 24 2011 - because I was brought to sobs from his version of Round Here that night. I never know what song will be my favorite. Another Chicago show "Sullivan Street" was... truly astounding. I had shivers for 10 minutes! Every time Adam does an add-in is amazing for me. My favorite add-in is "I will walk and talk in gardens misty wet with rain" (from Sweet Thing) and then the Thunder Road one of course!
@countingcrows1238 жыл бұрын
He does it a lot because he's emotionally invested in the performances. Not just going through the motions like a lot of bands. If you want to hear the CD version, listen to the CD! You'll always have those versions. The beauty of Counting Crows live is that you never know what you're going to get it.. it's a new experience every time.

You know what Adam...Led Zeppelin got God damn sick and tired of Stairway To Heaven too....but they played and sang it as it was recorded, and as the fans knew it. There's nothing wrong with that. Made you what the fuck you are, and don't forget it. Mr. Jones too. Stop trying to "reinvent" yourself every time you pick up a live mic. Reinvent yourself with new shit, but leave the old stuff that everyone loves alone.

I like the Crows, no way, but I don't like how they reinterpretate their songs every single time when they are on stage. Singing anlong with them is not possible live. And it is a shame how they ruined RAIN KING. There is not a single live version which fits to the originally recorded one. My opinion.

They are a studio band at best. It's hard to play an instrument when your lead singer is totally off key because he's talking and not singing the lyrics. I would of walked out of this shit concert.
