gonna sit here, enjoying my pork fat. i eat almost a pound of pork a day. btw, preservatives and nitrites aren't bad. ken berry md debunked this. nothing wrong with smoked meat. i ate so many hot dogs as a kid, science thinks i should be dead. btw, jill. calories in/out is a myth whether YOU like it or not. jill, polyunsaturated fats are bad. vegetable oils inflame the body, cause insulin resistance, cause blindness, arthritis. you are so ill informed. nuts, seeds, grains, vegetables have anti-nutrients and cause IBS, arthritis, and potentially type 1 diabetes in people. did you know repeated inflammation in the body actually stimulates cortisol(stress hormone) and eventually, the cortisol runs out from excess stimulation, and this triggers the pancreas-killing process via immune system ? there is strong evidence linking gluten intolerance to type 1 diabetes. you are selfish for telling everyone to adopt your habits/routine because it works for you. certain nuts and legumes are even being linked to stomach cancer. did you know that ? excess fiber intake actually decreases bowel frequency in a lot of people. did you also know high fiber doesn't protect from, but actually increases risk of diverticulitis ? there are studies on this; we need less fiber, moderate mobility as we age to stimulate digestion. we need more meat/fat, less carbs as we age. carbs are the cause of heart attack, stroke, blindness, brain damage, organ damage, erectile dysfunction; all from high blood sugar. science is wrong on fiber; it does not mean stable blood sugar. your complex carbs mean nothing. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqu2iqyZn7WBfa8 this diabetic man and his wife; the difference in blood sugar between grains and starch isn't significant enough to ensure most people's safety. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gImomHqNepyKf9U&t= bananas are world's most dangerous fruit in the world. look at the blood sugar difference. all these things are dangerous and you and other celebs live under a rock.

Actually, counting macros can be extremely helpful. I tried losing weight for 16 years and nothing I ever did worked until I heard about counting macros. After working out my macro ratios, I had to track my eating habits and I had to tinker with the macros for a few months before I found what works. I noticed that as I tracked my eating habits, the days where I ate more fats were the days I gained weight. The days where I ate less fat and more carbs and proteins were the days I lost weight. So when I finally figured out that my body does best with losing weight on a higher carb and lower fat diet, I finally lost 40 pounds. If I never knew anything about macros, I would still be trying to figure out how to lose my stubborn body fat and would have ended up on some extreme diet by this point.
@elizabethsessions44864 жыл бұрын
It's still calories in calories out, though. So whatever way you were eating was causing you to eat in a calorie deficit. The days you seemingly gained weight eating certain foods, were most likely because you consumed more sodium. Makes you retain water and then 2 or 3 pounds of water weight will show up over night. 2 or 3 pounds of fat does not show up over night. Weight loss and gain isn't always fat, which is what most people are trying to lose.
@Angelbabs20234 жыл бұрын
How do you figure out the macros counting thing? Any advise/help would be greatly appreciated. Warm regards
@godswordevangelism4 жыл бұрын
@@elizabethsessions4486 Yes, I know that I have to stay within a certain amount of calories. And I always have stayed within that amount. It didn't matter if I was eating more fats or more carbs, the calories stayed the same but the fats always made me gain weight and the carbs (fruits and vegetables only, no breads, pastas, or rice) caused me to lose weight. I try to track my sodium intake too and I try not to go over the recommended amount. Most days I don't.

One thing I’d add is Jillian mentioned “cage free” eggs. Pasture raised is the healthiest. From what I have heard, cage free is mostly marketing and not associated with healthy eggs. They can be cage free and still be a bad choice.
@ashdingler14 жыл бұрын
EXACTLY! "Cage free" can usually mean they are not trapped in tiny individual cages, BUT they are still all packed shoulder to shoulder on a nasty feces covered floor of a barn with little to no sunlight. You want pasture raised because then they are actually roaming around free outside to forage on the grass.

All of the info in this video is true. I just didn't like how much macro balance was undermined though. Counting macros has made it wayyyyy easier for me control my diet. I had a carb heavy diet, and calorie restriction had was extremely stressful for me. I was eating sufficient calories, but I was cranky all the time, couldn't even fast for 12hr, and had issues sleeping at night. Took Jillian's quiz, and realized I'm fast oxidizing type. Adjusted macros as per the recommendation, and weeks later I'm sleeping well, not cranky, fasting 14hrs a day. I eat carbs only to fuel my workouts!

Still, I continue to find that the greatest contributor to my up and downs is sodium. Or does it continue, even if your body is holding more water weight?

Does anyone know if Jillian (or anyone else knowledgeable and reputable) has made a good video about managing pain when you first start working out? Any time I get too stagnant, returning to activity gives me days-long migraines with nausea. My doc says there is nothing serious wrong unless other symptoms develop. The exercise is typically pretty moderate, ex: yesterday was an hour of walking around my flat neighborhood at a moderate pace, about 3.5 mph. I wasn't even all that tired. But now I just feel like spending 2 days in bed. Any video or blog recommendations on this topic would be wonderful. (I am currently in the 'overweight' BMI category.)

Hi Jillian. Thank you for your help. You mention and stick to the belief of “calories in calories out” strategy is the best to lose weight, but I personally have come to doubt it. My reasoning for doubting is the fact it has not worked for me at all. I’ve been on a deficit for a while, but have barely lost weight. Can you please explain what might be the cause of this? :/ Could really use some advice...

You may need a diet break. It's never a good idea to be in a deficit for too long. Try a reverse diet for a couple of months. Increase your calories and allow your body to adjust to more food and then try dieting down again. Plenty of videos about reverse dieting youtube.
