@blurefr2 жыл бұрын
@CJ Martinez Didn't know about the Egypt part so I looked into it and yes it was supposed to go to Egypt but as a different design, a peasant Arab woman. Egypt refused stating that it would be too costly. Eiffel then designed a "Colossal Godess" and pitched it to the US and they accepted it. The reason Egypt rejected was because France said it would supply the statue but Egypt (and later the US) would have to pay for and build the pedestal which she would stand on.

6:14 - 6:25 As a German, I wanted to make something clear to all non germans (probably not European/neighboring countries of us) who haven't a clue about this scene. You could think of this that germans don't talked about WW2, but in fact we did a lot and still do (about the horrible things the Nazis did etc). it's like the most processed thing in Germany. We already learn to get many Aspects of it in elementary school. We have a lot of commemorations and memorials of the fallen/countries who were involved( like Russian ones in Berlin for example). I kinda felt a little bit "upset" about this scene (even if it could be a joke), because other countries like Japan or Italy didn't review the history of WW2 like we did. It's still a big thing to a lot of us and it's not like the topic "WW2" is frowned upon (like you could think of that scene). But that doesn't mean we "like" to talk about it, it's a difference. I hope you can understand what I mean.
@folk13192 жыл бұрын
the minimum the germans have to do is talk about the country's shameful and horrible past so that mistakes like that don't happen again. it's just germany's obligation

I always admire your people's bravery to openly discuss all the atrocities the Nazis had done during and before the WWII. To face the past is the milestone to create a better future, free of wars, of such tragedies, in my opinion. A lot of nations worldwide do not simply have the courage to just face what their ancestors did. A shame my home country, China, never discusses to the fullest all the oppressions that happened under the brutal reign of Mao. Worse, any open denouncement in China would be censored by the government even though the CCP itself recognized the Cultural Revolution and the Great Leap Forward as a huge mistake.

Well Taj Mahal is nor a palace nor castle but a grave actually. And that actually makes it a unique landmark. Many of us indians don't appreciate it for numerous reasons but since its existence has capitalized quite well, we're good. Afterall, Money is all people need.
@keshav15352 жыл бұрын
Taj Mahal was built by a muslim ruler from the tax money he collected from hindus forcibly. At that time when Shah Jahan and it's official were enjoying luxurious life in Red Fort, Agra. Coming to it's balcony seeing the construction of Taj Mahal everytime from there on the banks of river Yamuna. And feeling pleasant and teaching to the masses that he loved his wife mumtaz was a complete lie. Because it was pure lust of Shah Jahan. Mumtaz died while giving birth to her 14th child. She died due to complications from over pregnancies as that time her body was completely destroyed. Hindus were dying because of poverty and starvation and Shah Jahan was enjoying. Taj Mahal can never be a symbol of ❤! It's a symbol for cruelty. I am so happy to see that nowadays the number of tourists visiting Taj Mahal is declining even before the pre covid era and even the statue of unity in Gujarat is having more tourists and is creating more revenue than Taj Mahal now.
@divyadharsrivastava38202 жыл бұрын
