There are actually three tallest mountains in the world. Everest is highest above sea level. Chimborazo is furthest from the center of the earth. And Mauna Loa (the tallest Hawaiian peak whichever it is) is the tallest from the base of the mountain, which is the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.

Only problem I have is the mountain one. The most accurate way to measure their size is by where there base is relative to sea level, then subtract their height from sea level. That is the best way to measure a mountains height

i actually did a fuckton of research on this but i lost my notes. Anyways thats a myth. People seem to say “oh all the US did was go to the moon, USSR did everything else first” which is completely untrue, if you follow the history, they were actually equal until later in the 60’s when USSR funding was cut for their space program, and by far the US was ahead in the 70’s.
