The black bows on the cabinets are beautiful. I think since you have small children a rustic-style gingerbread would be better than the black church etc. and then the red bows as you said. Red check cabinet curtains, "chef's kiss"! Aren't you glad you asked? 😆 Love, love, love your style!

I think a bunch of red beads would look good in one of those vases on your shelves. I always decorated heavily for Christmas, until I had auto immune diseases. Now it’s just whatever I can manage. I absolutely love your style.

The grater is for nutmeg. The whole nutmeg seed is stored in the compartment. It tastes much fresher grated directly from the seed rather than store bought preground spice. 😊

Hi Lauren, I'm A bit late, trying to catch up! I love the like nutmeg grater, that's a sweet little find!😊 Cute for a open holder! The garlands around the windows are beautiful! Painting the little houses & turning them into gingerbread houses seems to be a very popular DIY this year! The shelves are decorated really pretty. I love the tiny wreaths, for candle rings, hanging on peg racks or anywhere really, to stick behind other items on a shelf, just so much you can do with them!😊 I'm A maximilist, always have been & always will be! I just love lots of pretty things! And when you collect things you're always going to find more & buy more! Oh yes, I'm loving all the beautiful velvet bows! My favorite ones are the ones with frayed edges.😊 I think the bow on the chandelier turned out really pretty!❤ I like the black bows on the pieces on the shelves to go with the houses. It looks pretty on the doors too, but red might show up better & match the big bow on the light?🤷‍♀️ Both look pretty, so you can't go wrong with either! Personally I like the red checks for Christmas, but again they are both pretty & you can't go wrong with either! Lol of course I'm a week behind & I'm sure you've moved on from that! it is a nutmeg grinder the compartment is to the nutmeg nut. you only grind what you need so you put the nut back in the compartment.

I feel like the red curtains on your cabinets have a very summer feel to them. They are super cute but they scream picnic blanket. I think if you went with a darker red and a lil bit different check pattern, it would be more of a cold weather/christmas vibe.

It’s a nutmeg grater. The little compartment is to hold the nutmeg before grating. Your is pretty rusty (age or from being washed in a dishwasher). I would just let it hold your pens. 😀

I struggle with decorating my kitchen as well. I do like the black ribbons but also am a fan of gold. Why not tie them together? Using two ribbons will fill out the look more.

We like them but I will say there is maintenance work involved. We had issues resealing ours last summer and need to redo it… you know, in our free time 😆 So that’s my disclaimer, they do take some work to upkeep! ❤️
