Your lessons are the best anywhere. Thank you! I am getting ready to order one of your DVD's as we speak. Could you briefly describe your tone in this video? It is amazing.
@CountryGuitarChops4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Tyler. Gee, I have no idea what I was using when I made this video years ago. But I'm going to quess that it was either my 65 Bassman or my 74 Deluxe Reverb. I'm inclined to think it was the bassman. I love my deluxe, but that bassman tone is just incredible!

Anyone know why Ken has what I think is a banjo tuner on his sixth string? Is it quicker to drop it on the fly in a gig? Just curious.
@CountryGuitarChops3 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's a locking banjo tuner. You'll see them on Marty Stuart's "Clarence" and Waylon's Tele, as well as many other players. It has 2 set screws, allowing you to lock it so it won't turn past your "E' tuning, and the other screw will lock it when you tune down to "D' or what ever pitch you set it to. So I can tune from my E note to the drop D note (and back again) in a split second. I made a video about this, it's called "drop D tuner devise for guitar".

Great lick. I'll definitely use it. What's the deal with the tuner on you're low e string? It looks like it's missing.
@CountryGuitarChops9 жыл бұрын
It's a locking banjo tuner. It has 2 locking set screws that allow you to set the tuning between your E and drop D with a quick turn of the knob. I've used them for any years and like them alot!
@MusicMan6429 жыл бұрын
It's a banjo style tuner for doing quick changes between E and D

If I understand it properly this lick fits the chord change V -> IV, right?
@CountryGuitarChops8 жыл бұрын
No, it's from the 5 to 1 chord, but it could be used as a 1 to 5 lick too.
@Barzi20018 жыл бұрын
Aaarrgh! Right! E B is s fifth! :-) Many thanks Ken! :-)

Nope.. it fits over whatever chord (major or 7th) you what, but the progression doesn't change chords while you play the lick. I think you would really enjoy my "Mastering The Fret Board" lesson, which explains using and thinking around chord shapes as you play lead. Go to countryguitarchops.com if your interested. Thanks!
