It's always nerve-racking handing over a vehicle, but never so much as when the client is Hollywood hardman, Vinnie Jones! Tom's unveiling his Defender 90 and Polaris and we kept tightly to the brief (even including the custom Harkila tweed interior!), but if Vinnie's not pleased, Tom's going to run - fast!

The best and most entertaining watch this year. What a great guy... A man's man with a genuine love of nature and a Heart of Gold. Having suffered the very sad loss of his wife 6yrs ago who he loved dearly... Hopefully he will find new life and love with the wonderful Emma his PA... Who clearly has helped him to regain happiness again... And clearly loves him more than realises. Hopefully this series will run with the rebuild of the listed building on his land. I wish you well Vinnie... You deserve this fame and new love.

I wish I had been able to turn up to the Estate I used to shoot on in those vehicles but then I don't think I would have wanted to leave it to go on a drive, not that it was an area of high vehicle thefts it's just that is an awesome bit of kit that I would be loathe to leave out of my sight. Stunning look Defender 90, superb, certainly easier to live with than standard. Ive come so close to owning one, early Range Rovers too, because my dad had beat up old LRs and his mate has a classic Range Rover circa 1970 and our neighbour had links with the motor racing fraternity and drove a company Range Rover at that time too. BUT! I don't like big repair bills (RRs) and LRs above 55mph? Nah thanks. Funnily enough I'm building and detailing a radio controlled LR 90 and the paint scheme is almost identical to this one, the wheels too. Beautiful workmanship, enjoy✌️💜😊

Beautiful work, I've had many a landie and I wish I'd kept my defenders especially the V8 but I couldn't be bothered forever fixing them although parts were dirt cheap. I now have a very low mileage 1999 land cruiser Amazon and I wouldn't swap it

@@peterbalac1915 ya, I get that for sure, when I was younger I didn't mind fixing them. The Toyota is reliable and it's always been my dream 4x4, I've had a surf that my mate has now given a new life. It wore 33's and was lovely. Not over done. My cruiser is a Jap import with 83,,000 miles and I paid just over £7000 2 years ago. I put a 3" stainless exhaust and an old man emu lift kit to take the 33's and someone offered me £15,000. I of course said no. Urban Cruiser for day to day running about. I'm not saying I'll never have a landlie again but it's unlikely as I don't like the new ones and the old ones are silly money, I wish I still had my series 11.

Yes, but I suppose you could ‘dumb down’ nearly every profession in the world (bar a few very worthy jobs) in that way. In effect he played the worlds most watched sport , the richest sport, the sport played in every nook and cranny the world over, wore the sponsored shirt of billion pound companies and was seen by hundreds of millions of young commercially impressionable (if that makes sense) people around the world twice a week for half of the year for the best part of 20 years.

Vinnie ...you have obviously payed proper DOH for this work so I thought you should know. The checkerboard on the Land rover hasn't been countersunk properly for the fixing bolts (1:57). The Polaris is even worse , there's air bubbles under the "Squire Editions" graphics (9:16) and the left door lower hinge isn't even securing the door.. have a look at the nut position (3:14). I will say the interior of the Defender is "The Bollox" though .

An interesting question. They're G plates which going off of their original issue year (1968/69) would have been legal in either black or yellow/white as that falls between the optional introduction (1967) and mandatory use (1973) years for the current yellow style plates. Yellow didn't really take off for the first couple of years. So looking at the plate alone, black would likely have been the issue colour. However, to use black plates a vehicle needs to be pre 1980 under current rules, which for a 90 is not possible, all pre 1980 short Land Rovers are the Series not Defender model. So no, this particular vehicle should not legally have a black plate, though there's an ongoing debate about whether all historic vehicles should be able to use black plates even if they did not originally get them. There's talk about formally adopting the colour as a historic vehicle marker, similar to the green box for zero emission vehicles, as evidenced by the change in the law to allow 73-80 vehicles to use black plates despite not originally being issued them. However because most people aren't Land Rover encyclopedias, and Land Rovers looked pretty similar before 1980 to be point where you can put a Defender front end on a Series 3 so even the grille is no guarantee, and the date on the plate is okay for a black plate, most people probably won't notice this is technically not a legal plate. I'm not sure if that answers the question. In short, technically no, but in practice it's unlikely to be enforced.
