Country stars talk about Shania Twain's influence at CMT Artists of the Year show

Country star Shania Twain is the most successful female country artist and has influenced singers in all genres. Twain received the Artist of a Lifetime award at the CMT Artists of the Year show in Nashville, Tennessee, on Wednesday (19 OCT. 2016).
From R&B singer Jill Scott to fellow country star Carrie Underwood, women have long admired Twain's powerful pop country songs and fashion style.
Twain herself said the honor feels like she's achieved success in her career.
"I sort of feel like I have arrived at a point in my life that is being recognized and respected and appreciated," Twain said. "And that is just this wonderful feeling of relief that I have accomplished something to this level. So it's a relief and it feels really good."
Scott, pop singer Meghan Trainor and country singer Kelsea Ballerini performed a medley of her hits for her.
"Well, it's a huge compliment first of all because all of these three girls have mega voices," Twain said. "Are incredible entertainers and very successful in their own right. So it's a compliment and I will enjoy it thoroughly, sitting there and watching these girls bring my songwriting to life in their own way. There is no greater compliment."
Scott said it was impossible not to be influenced by Twain's music and style.
"Who is not a fan of Shania Twain? The woman came on the scene, supposedly country," Scott said. "Blew completely over into pop. And made a mark of sexiness and great lyrics and a wonderful voice. She's a really powerful woman and I am into powerful women."
Underwood too said she paved the way for artists like her.
"I think we were all definitely influenced by Shania, even if we don't realize it," Underwood said. "Because her music was just so.. She was just her and it was different and kind of revolutionary at the time. She definitely paved the way for a lot of us that are doing what we do now and lucky enough to get to do that. It's cool that she is being honored."
The show will air on CMT at 9 p.m. EST on Thursday, Oct. 20.

I think Shania Twain has been one of the best female singing artist of all time she's had her struggles her tragedies and has pulled through it with great success on her last tour that she's performing in 2018 I plan to be there in Phoenix to watch her great send off for touring but I hope she keeps making CDs because she is a force to be reckoned with

True, she had to acknowledge the importance, impact and strong influence of Shania, the biggest and most successful female artist in Country music. Carrie herself is a reflection of this influence even if she does not want to accept the undeniable fact that Shania is a country music legend.

Shania did it all in times with NO social networks and smartphones. Artist today have that and it is more easy to share and spread their work or being famous. And is not only about Shania`s music, it is about the way she walked the stage, how simple and amazing at the same time she was, it is about her charisma, her angel. Shania was sexy but not sexual. She became a megastar and never stoped of being humble and honest and down to earth. She has, even today, something unique around her. If you listen Shania talk, you want to hug her, be her friend. People, there are videos of what I said, she sang while signing autographs at the same time. Plus, her personal life struggles. Shania is one of a kind. She really worked her ass off to do what she loves. Today, you show a sexual video or sing half naked and that`s it. You are famous. Yesterday I find the video of Shania singing BLUE EYES CRYING IN THE RAIN with WILLIE NELSON. Give me that all the time before any song of any female pop star today.
