Reed lasts about 60 years, much longer than straw. Apparently, Jack Hargreaves never used any notes or script, he just 'winged it.' The sign of a natural presenter.

No one else like Jack. What a true gent. I grew up watching his country life. Good TV like this is now sadly missed. R.I.P Jack, not forgotten !

I haven't been able to find it. Most of Hargreaves is lost to the ages I think.
