Mexico is a nation in southern North America. Mexico is often overshadowed by its neighbor, the United States, but it has an even richer history than the United States! The history of Mexico begins with the Aztec settlement, and their buildings still excite people's minds today. During Columbus' expedition to the Americas, Mexico was discovered. Spanish colonizers were immediately attracted to this territory, so a colony was founded. The Spaniards built up territories in the region and soon went beyond the territory of modern Mexico. In the 18th century, 13 American colonies declared their sovereignty from the English crown, such an event inspired the Latin American people, which in the future played a role. After the French Revolution, Louisiana was transferred to Spanish possessions, but France again demanded the right to it and soon sold it to the United States. In 1819 Spain sold modern Florida to the USA. In 1821 Mexico claimed sovereignty and gained independence from the United States. The U.S. saw Mexico as a weak neighbor and occupied the northern territories. In 1836, the Republic of Texas seceded from Mexico and was soon annexed and became a state. American expansion into the Americas continued, with the U.S. soon taking over California, Nevada, and other Mexican states. In 1914 World War I began, in which the U.S. took an active part, the opponents of the U.S. hoped that Mexico would attack its neighbor, but American spies intercepted the letter.
After the war, the United States and Canada experienced an economic crisis, the “Great Depression.” This event also affected Mexico, but not as much as its neighbors. In World War II Mexico remained neutral, but nowadays Mexico is going through bad times, now it is ruled by cartels and the government controls not much of the country. In 2020, U.S. President Donald Trump began building the Mexican-American Wall to combat illegal migration. In 2024, the crisis between Texas and Mexico began, with Texas authorities illegally blocking the border.

Is a good video but there were a few inaccuracies. 5:30 though an important part of the independence was fought in Guerrero the indpendence started in the state of Guanajuato. 6:50 Tucson became part of the US with the Gadsden purchase 6:56 The French started the invasion in Veracruz
