Countries that were split in real life aren't actually split as a country human, there body wasn't split it's just their soul that splits so half of it's soul goes into one country and the other half goes into the other. Once the country is united or comes together the soul re-enters it's hosts body in one piece. They don't get their memories back when the country splits. They only get their memories if the past form of the country was conquered or it collapsed. Mostly all countries are seen as the gender their most comfortable with. Every single country can change their gender from Male to Female. Each country has a more feminine name when their a female and a more masculine name when theira male
