I know you're a hard working man and husband Evan. You said it, rust. You've invested time and money into all your equipment. You are a fixer, repairman and fabricator. Take the time to make sure that piece of machinery last a lifetime. Rust is a time killer and stealer. After season is over, it's time to derust your machinery. Choose 1 and make that your project for that fall/ winter season.

Evan you're very handy and a good fabricator. You brought that old mower back to life. We understand that you can't always record all the detailed shots. When you're on a tight schedule, like dealing with the weather, we still enjoy watching the video that you do give us.

I love watching you fabricate repairs on your equipment. I worked as a certified welder at 2 different companies a total of 26 years. I had to do a lot of fabrication work on machines in shop. I'm retired now but your work brings back a lot of memories. Thanks for sharing.

Nice work fabricating the needed parts. The new guard over the chain you fab think about using expanded metal painted black. and angle iron. That way you can see without removing guard. It is the way we built our guards in the industry where I worked.

we just cut hay today in Pa. I am reminded every year by my dad who is still making hay at 88, to not forget about the grease fitting at the bottom of the wobble box. It isn't as easy to spot and he knew someone that had to buy new parts because they forgot about that fitting. 😢

Evan, enjoy your videos. Have you considered getting a mechanic’s creeper rather than using the mat to lay on? Much easier to slide around on.

I would give the whole mower a spray with used oil i mix it with gas or diesel to thin it out then spray on with a gun helps keep the rust away and gives the paint bit of a shine also helps loosen up bolts after the oil creeps in the threads
@darellsunderlin46702 жыл бұрын
Good job , I think you should get a manual on that , I think you will find the wind row wings were wider and longer, maybe even a front set like you have and a wider longer set past that , you should be able to make a much bigger and narrower wind row . Nice work

Great job on the clips for the shoes. We always called that type of hay cutter a hay crimper. I think yours has the crimper feature that helps with the drying time. Like you know, the quicker you can cut and bail the less chance the downed hay gets wet from rain. Again, great job doing the bending/fabrications of the missing parts. And I think you filmed enough showing us all that you had to do to get it ready for cutting.
