In my experience you can get used to almost anything in time. I have owned as well as greatly appreciated and enjoyed a '97 Toyota Land Cruiser wagon for over a decade. Last year, a friend who is a professional truck driver had occasion to drive my Toyota and commented on how "the steering was all over the place". Although it didn't drive like it did when I first purchased the SUV, I hadn't noticed such substantial deterioration probably because I am the primary driver of the vehicle and deterioration would have been gradual. Off to the mechanic it went where it turned out that a wheel hub nut had been left loose by a previous technician after a stub axle replacement so the whole brake rotor was also loose so the vehicle came back vastly improved which was, distinctly noticeable. Faults like the king pin could not help but affect control characteristics even for a vehicle with a wheel base the size of a bus, for someone to claim they didn't notice any difference seems unusual. Then of course our species does not enjoy a level playing field with regard to perceptional acuities' and some people would never admit they had not noticed mismatched shoes .

@Mike Hartman I have not purchased my RV as of yet. The ones that I have been interested in sell very quickly. I have been looking for a 1999 - 2008 non-slide but not the 45ft Prevost buses. A Wonderlodge, country coach or a foretravel 36- 40ft. With the price of diesel going up, these will be on sale soon......

The last Country Coach's were made between 2008-2009 but we'll see them on the road for many years to come far out lasting conventional fiberglass coaches of the same vintage. Great content B.G.M.!

You guys are so good to people, that’s what gets me it’s awesome there was that story in Northern California where these two young kids built a school bus camper and it broke down they had to have it towed to a shop that stuck it deep in there a- - nailed them for $7000 to fix an injector pump crap like that just pisses me off are the story you shared last week thousand dollar starter 500 to put it in what a joke keep up the great vibe in karma that you guys have with your community

I like this old Gillig chassis. I had a Gillig under our first diesel pusher, a 38' 1991 Beaver and it was a solid chassis under a solid coach. Had it for 7 years and she had 129k on the clock when we sold it and purchased our 40' 2003 Monaco Dynasty. The Beaver want a powerhouse but it ran good and never had any drivetrain or chassis issues. I'm glad too see people keeping these older coaches going and on the road. Mike

Nice job on that bus. Glad to see another bus that is safe to drive on the road. As you can see we are not Al attuned to the problems with a bus and need someone of your caliber to give us the news of what is what. Your honesty is refreshing and the owner knows the work is done correctly. Keep up the Great Work!

seal tools arrived, Luke is dam good about sending the right parts, Seattle Scott working on 1954 Scenicruiser, I need a hard pad of concrete, front is 8,000 and rear is 22,000 Mr. Crosby is right-dam easy to make a jack into a flying object. good to see the fast turn around in repairs, working by my self takes several Saturdays to get the same work done. getting there, doing wheel seals now, too bad the previous mechanic used a chisel to seat the bearing nut, going to smooth that out or replace the nut.

Hi: The reason this motor home's Cummins jake works so well is because Cummins uses the Turbo as the jake brake by changing the pitch of the blades with an actuator to create a lot of exhaust drag. Michael

While some people would complain about the cost of maintenance the owners know the satisfaction of knowing their rev meets all standards per dot with nothing overlooked. Scott is one of the few willing to work on old and new buses converted to RV’s as most commercial shops won’t take the work in either because they don’t have a qualified Detroit 2 stroke mechanic or simply don’t want the vehicle hogging a service bay while they wait for parts. Ever thought about training a high school graduate of an auto motive program to teach him where the real steal is Scott? I personally think you’d be superb as you already do it for us the KZbin audience. Pick some kid who enjoys working on heavy equipment. Food for thought

Did you have to replace the keyed washer? Was it the wrong size, or was the key on it broken to allowed it to turn? Could it not working correctly have caused the torque on both the outer and inner bearing to be more than it should have been? I am assuming you did a full inspection on the other side also.

So my understanding you will work on the chassis brakes steering on other motorhomes but you don’t work on the engine right that’s still OK i’m planning on buying one. It might be in Columbus, Ohio or Kentucky. What would it cost to come inspect the brakes, the air and anything else you think of to make sure it’s good on the road. Thanks for the video KY.

2 comments: 102" width limit is the vehicle. The mirrors have to be wider. I have a Cummins (2020 ) in my truck & I'm totally unimpressed with the engine brake. Every Detroit I ever drove was better. So if his Cummins brake was good, I'm wondering if it was a C brake, or something else...

I'm sure if he lived in Northern Wisconsin, it would be closed already. It only gets down to the mid 20's down there. Suggestion would be to put up a cabinet on the wall, and put a 100watt lightbulb in there to keep things from freezing. That's how they keep soda machines from freezing that are outside all winter.
