The Narrative of this film is very intriguing. Indeed, it's almost something you expect from Tennessee Williams or a Terence Fisher-style thriller. That probably explains why they were able to get Kelsey Grammer, as well as Nicholas Cage, to be involved in the production. However, according to IMDb, the producers ran out of funding before the production was completed; which probably affected the post-production. That's likely why such a curious film received only a 4.7 out of 10 on the IMDb scale. It would be hilarious if Grand Isle had a trajectory similar to Touch of Evil (1958) and the Last Movie (1971). Those two earlier films also had legendary production issues, and the finished product was rejected by both audiences and critics when they were new. It said they hadn't had sex for 6 months and judging from how old the baby looks, she probably gave birth around that time, which means she's most likely going through a healing phase. Some women heal faster and some take longer. There's probably a mental block or it could be physical reason, that's most likely because of the birth on why she is avoiding doing it with her husband. Yes, sex is important in a marriage/relationship but that ain't an excuse for someone to cheat nor is it everything in a relationship. If he truly loved her, he should be patient and do his best to understand and figure out why she's avoiding it and communicate how he feels to her, especially since she's his wife/mother of his child.
