The pinprick holes aren’t to let out air. They’re to let air IN because a vacuum is created by trying to remove the hands which would prevent them from being removed.

Is that wax then filled with plaster and is the wax removed exposing the final casting? Or is that big clump of purple wax the final product? Because if it is, it's a terrible job and not a casting at all, as of now it's only a mold.
