(Moira Ashton) That was very interesting , I retired to Spain13 years ago with my husband, your journey reminded me of ours, we had one huge Basset dog, and a Maine Coon cat... but a friend drove us over , we thoroughly enjoyed the journey, My husband sadly died February 2019, but we had over 11 happy years here, and of course I still live here, this is my home, and I have lots of good friends here. I live 2 minutes walk from our little town. I am really enjoying your story, and Congratulations on your 1st year in Portugal 🐓🤩

Great story, thanks for sharing....the fact you did not leave your animals behind speaks volumes. Hope you’re improving your new language skills and promote your community. Should you accept your mission, your next challenge will be to learn how to sing “fado” and dance the “folclore”. As you progress with the language, you may want to see a Portuguese series called “Bem Vindos a Beirais”, it ran recently for several years, one of the main characters was a young but very busy businessman in Lisbon, he experienced a heart attack and decided it was time to downsize and move to the countryside and become a farmer, needless to say, he knew nothing about farming but he had a great humble personality that was well accepted by the towns people....and like they say, the rest was history. Even the show theme song speaks of the hardships with a very catchy beat that will stay in your head......so, welcome to Portugal..... I love my people, my land, do your best to treat it well......enjoy the hardships as you enjoy the fruits of the land........ By the way, the series “Bem Vindos a Beirais” is somewhat found in KZbin but you also download the National tv RTP...they’re archived there also....the main character’s name is Diogo, you will find him ....good luck I know, I know....you’ve been here a while already....wonder how Mimosa would do in a long 8 day trip....
