WAP was a great song between Meg and Cardi. Bongos was definitely carried by Meg. To be honest, Meg is more talented then female rappers like Nicki, Cardi, Ice, etc... but many factors are at play. She has been plagued by label issues, she doesn't receive as much push from the powers that be, colorism, etc...

Its within theme, she starts off by saying just as a snake sheds their skin, we must let go of the past. Part of that comes with newfound confidence, in all aspects, mental, emotional, spiritual and physical. Especially when in the song she mentions being cheated on, which for anyone that usually is a blow on the self esteem, as it's easy to think you're not good enough or attractive enough etc. It's also I think playing on perception. Megan Thee Stallion is known for being a "hot girl" and being overly sexualized and that image is easy for her to he perceived as "she's okay" because if she's dancing and having a good time it means there's no way to be depressed right? Usually the people who for example end up commiting suicide or have those thoughts as she addressed in this song, are the ones that people would be most shocked about because they hid it so well. So it's an interesting take to have her play into that perception with these lyrics, as if shes challenging us to not be distracted by the sexy and instead listen to what shes saying.
