I discovered them about a year ago and was so taken by the entire package they present, visuals, dance, musicality, but mostly the charisma and confidence that all four of them exude, not just in videos but live performances as well, I had to see for myself, and drug my 61 year old self out to Coachella, braving the desert heat and 125,000 Blinks all wanting the same thing as I, to get as close as possible and see them live. I’ve seen the Stones. I’ve seen Fleetwood Mac. I’ve even seen Queen. Blackpink is in their league with their live performances. The Coachella show was the greatest overall music and visual event I’ve ever witnessed. You watched the documentary first. Good form. 2022 to 2023 was a big year for Blackpink. They sold out a world tour through Asia, Europe, and many major cities in the US. They played at the VMA music awards, then were the headline act for this year's Coachella music festival. They played a charity gala at the invitation of the first lady of France, then sold out three American stadiums( including Dodgers stadium) and the largest stadiums in both France and Korea as an encore. Their Coachella performance was live streamed around the world with 250,000 live attendees and 250 million devices ( world wide) tuned to that performance.

You may not know BlackPinks training and production company is YG Entertainment. They had another 4 member GG that debuted in 2009 called 2NE1 which disbanded in 2016 when BlackPink debuted. They now have a new 7 member GG that is to debut in November 2023 called Baby monster. Blackpink debuted in August 2016 with Whistle and Boombayah and they hit the ground running. I am a self proclaimed oldest Blink, not related to any of the girls, at 66 years old. However, I didn't discover their existence until 2018 so I had so much catching up to do, just like you and Mrs Coach do now. so glad you checked out "Light Up The Sky". They also have a series called "Blackpink House, 24/365" which is a vlog/Documentary of their life after debuting. I appreciate your open minds to dive into this amazing rabbit hole. The one you call fierce is Jennie. Jennie was born in Korea but moved to New Zealand at age 10. Jennie is 20 here. Lisa is the first rapper on this track. She is from Thailand and is the youngest at 19. Rose' (pronounced like the wine) is the one whose voice you love. Although she is of Korean ethnicity, she was born in New Zealand and moved to Australia at age 7 before coming to Korea to train for this. Rose' is also 19 here.Jisoo is the singer with a deeper, huskier voice (her words not mine) was born and raised in Korea. she was 21 here. I just wanted to give you some perspective.
