JiU looked soooooo unbelievably good during this era and makes me miss her having black hair. Also, JiU's hair was actually a 'hime cut' which is usually cheek-length side bangs and long hair in the back. It's an incredibly popular hairstyle derived from Japan dawned by nobility since 'hime' is Japanese for princess.

You and I is the beginning of their unique sound, which InSomnia called it the 'DreamCatcher Genre'. It's the title track where Leez & Ollounder (DreamCatcher producer) work as a Duo...in Chase Me and Good Night, both of them a part of Superbomb Trio...I forgot the name of the other one producer.

Storyline: Thematically, this is the last episode of the first part of the Nightmare Series (Ep 4). The former wraiths/nightmares, have become human again with the aid of the Spell Book, recovered from the Hunter in Good Night. You and I (or is it Yoo and I? 😉) continues on from the end of Good Night, where the former Nightmares break the curse of the Spider Queen and escape through the forest . They lose the Book of Spells during that time. Time has passed and these girls have now become Dreamcatchers and help people fight nightmares (they're experts after all). They use photography as a magical means to achieve this and they obviously keep a photographic studio. And this is where it gets bad. The Spider Queen returns. Driven by revenge, she appears as an old lady and a client, then she takes control over Yoohyeon, who was also the first to succumb to her corruption back in the School of Magic and she killed the spider. She takes over her body, while she exiles Yoohyeon's spirit in the Dream World, where she will remain alone, separate from the others for the rest of the Series. In a desperate attempt, the rest of the Dreamcatchers form a magic circle and use magic to try and create a portal, to save Yoohyeon. But the portal closes before she manages to escape. She's trapped in the Nightmare Realm, as we see later on in What. Fan fact: The portal looks like the magnifying glass that Yoohyeon used to kill the spider in Fly High.

Btw, Jiu is sporting a Hime Cut, similar to Maison, so the front half is short, and the back half is longer. The shots where it looks short, she has the back part tied back in a ponytail. Nightmare series is 6 MVs (7 if you include Breaking Out). Because Fly High is the Prequal to all the madness, You and I picks up where Good Night ended. You and I has the return of the spider as it does not like they are not contained to the nightmare world any more. In this, they take pictures and try to protect people with the pictures. The black is the darkness/nightmare/curse still throwing to keep them under control. Specifically they are trying to do something involving Yoohyeon. Yoohyeon gets trapped in the white world/nightmare world because the portal closes before the others can rescue her. Yooh’s silver hair is iconic and is Dami with the magic stick. This choreography is soo good. They even did this choreography in the rain once. The end of the song is iconic with Jiu grabbing Yoo’s neck.

I just watched "The Cinema of Dreamcatcher" by mera (of Dodging Disbandment fame) and she makes a great point about how this video really solidifies them as a girl group. I'd argue the earliest videos were focused on proving they're not like other girl groups and this is where they start to establish an identity that's more about the members. As for ranking the first four titles, I agree with yours. I have no idea how I'd rank the full discography, though!

Actually, there's a storyline on the nightmare series, an order. You should check it out, what really happened in this MV is that they got cursed by the spider Jiu captured in Fly High. And the next video which follows You & I It's Scream. ♥ I love your reactions, I'm a new fan of you both!!

This is Yoohyeon's best hair tbh and the stylists have tried to recreate it several times but haven't been able to get that colour again. Jiu's hairstyle is called a hime cut, basically short in front long at the back like Japanese royalty. Fun fact this is Jiu and Yooh's fave choreo. Oh and this is in my top 3 of my fave title tracks. The mv tells about the end of goodnight with the girls out of the dream world and trying a normal life but the spider goes after yoohyeon and the girls have to team up to try to save yoohyeon But it doesn't work and unfortunately she ends up trapped in the dream world alone, we have a continuation of this story in WHAT

You and I is definitely one of my favourites. Just Deja vu and Boca contest the number one spot in MV's. JiU's hair was so confusing for me when I just got into DC. I was immediately smitten by JiU (at first smile), but frustrated I was so bad at recognising them in MV's! I figured I go by hair color and smile, which is the worst method of recognition. Then I figured she had a "hime cut", so partially short hair with the long part in a tail. You can see it when the shadowy claw grasps after her in the mirror. Quick question, how come you (and a zillion others) have "my playlist", like only one?! I have dozens depending on my mood. I even split my DC playlist when it became too long (and I didn't always get to the end). I can't imagine having just one playlist...

Hey! awesome! What a journey it is right? I'm enjoying your Dreamcatcher reaction series a lot. Personally, my ranking for the songs you've reacted to that are part of the nightmare series (even though I love them all as well) would be 1. Chase Me 2. You and I, Good Night and Fly High, The reason behind this is that I tend to enjoy more their heavy stuff, since I'm a musician coming from a background of mostly heavy sounding music such as metal. But in the end I enjoy everything from Dreamcatcher. They are all very talented, have great personalities and their music production team is on another level.

The first three MVs were still kind of hanging on to the youthful, cute vibes of MINX even if they gave it a more creepy edge. Like, they were literally portraying witchy schoolgirls, and they used higher-pitched vocals. You & I was when they decided to ditch that and go for a more mature girl-crush concept.

Seeing as how you guys like dreamcatcher and pixy, another group in a similar vein is pink fantasy! They also have a rock-inspired sound, but they tend to lean more into metal and j-rock than pixy and dreamcatcher do. They're super super underrated but they're my babies and I love them so much!
