Many Indian actors have nickname given by their fans like 'Rebel Star Prabhas' , 'Superstar Rajnikant' and even 'Rocking Star'. Checkout KGF1 and KGF2 trailer, you will know about 'Rocking Star'.

So, let me preface this by saying Im Sri Lankan tamil, that grew up Canada (Im 43 years old turning 44 soon)… but I’ve been watching Indian Tamil movies since I was 5 years old… I got into Hindi Movies since 2000s… Korean, Japanese, Telungu, Malayalam, etc… later on… I’ve watched a lot of Hollywood movies since I was 5 too. With that said, I think its lame to have such “monikers” but I know the origins of it… Superstar was given to Rajni cause he was at the top of the Tamil industry… the go to guy… the one that attracted the most audiences… but before him… there was MGR. So… from the start of Tamil Cinema… there was always a Superstar and an Ulaganayagan (meaning best actor -acting wise). Back when MGR was the superstar… Sivaji was Ulaganayagan… when they retired… that torch needed to be passed down. Rajni had so much style - he became superstar and Kammal Hassan became Ullagayagan. In each industry there was a Superstar… in Hindi it was Amitabh Bacchan; In Telungu it was Chiranjeevi and in Malayalam it was Mamooty… fun fact… Mani Ratnam wanted to make Thalapathi (1991) with all the superstars of the south… Rajni, Mamooty and Chiranjeevi but Chiranjeevi couldn’t do it for some reason and his character was replaced by Aravind Swami… but you have to understand 2 things… Superstar moniker is like the King and Ulaganayagan was Queen (don’t think its female but like a piece on the chess board). In my strong opinion… people like Rajni and Kammal should retire like their predecessors did and the next people in line should take their monikers… but they can’t cause their fanbase is crazy. So… people like Vijay have to make up new moniker like Illaya Thalapathi and later Thalapathi Vijay… its stupid… Rebel Star and Rockin star are pretty stupid too… be classy…. Hollywood doesn’t have monikers like this… every star has his own moniker?

Well I don't know why you said stupid about thier monikers well let me be clear with you. Every hero get thier monikers by thier charcter and by the film they attached to the audience like Vijaya thalapathy got his name by whole Indian with snehithudu the remake of 3 idiots and young Rebel star which that monkier given by the name of his unckle but prabhas known as young Rebel star. But prabhas original star name as darling parbhas. And after Yash got the name of rocking yas by kgf if you watched his movies then you would be undestand. And who told you that Hollywood don't care about monikers? Rrr award winning movie in 2023 Ram charan monikar name is presened on the screen with junior ntr. And prabhs name as young Rebel star name is moniker and presened his name on the screen in world golden award. It's stupid to you but even Hollywood is encouraging this monikers@@TheRealK6
