Russian couple Alexandr and Mariya Dmitriev were out visiting their local petting zoo in 2016 when one particular animal caught their eye and it was love at first sight. The animal in question was Messi, named after the famous soccer player, but he was no ordinary pet. In fact, Messi is a male cougar - a wild animal! But that didn't stop the Dmitrievs from fulfilling a lifelong dream...

You should see what they did and how they cared for dear Ichel in her end of life care omg NOT a dry eye watching those videos of Ichel the Cheetah omg she was terminally ill and blind she had been a circus performer and instead of her original owners who profited off her her whole life, care for poor Ichel they gave her the Cheetah named Ichel because of course they couldn't make anymore money off of the poor thing and instead of putting her down I'm sure they would have and they heard about Sasha and Masha's success with Messi so they gave them Ichel. She was only 10 years old and there's only a handful of videos of her care and end of life days with Sasha and Masha because they had to put Ichel to sleep after only 3 and a half months of owning and caring for her. Very humane and Ichel passed away with dignity and grace I'm sure of it RIP 🙏 dear Ichel 😢 🐾💔💕

@JoshuaJKarl Ive also lived along side of them on a horse and cattle ranch in central Oregon. One thing that always caught my attention was the animals that were killed that looked like they were played with and not eaten. I've found foxes for example, with there heads spun all the way around. Just killed and left there. I'm sure it wasnt done maliciously theyre animals. But what a sight to see let me tell you. If you want to know about senseless death look no farther than a large cat. We usually get one a year ranging from 135-250lbs. You know when there is one in the area they generally kill everything. You take that into your home its essentially a time bomb waiting to go off. This animal should be handled by professionals in a sanctuary someplace, keeping it as a pet and walking it like a dog is gross imo. I have a lot of respect for cougars.

@tony street I’ll bet you watched part of this video and ran right down here to the comments to enlighten all of us to your great intellectual insights on this story!!! Had you watched the entire video, you would have discovered that this particular wild cat is half the size he should be and would never survive living in the wild!!! But then again, a lot of PETA people and animal rights activists only raise hell to incite violence towards people who hunt and kill wild game in the manner of population control and as s means to feed their families without total reliance on a store to provide for them!!! In other words, tree huggers and activists are only good for making irritating noises, but they have no real idea or substance to back up the noise the are making! They therefore end up sounding just like the little brat boy who cried wolf one too many times!!!!

@purrflicks
@purrflicks 3 жыл бұрын
@@mikek2031 Correct, I wonder why most people don't get it.. but yeah maybe because nobody pays much attention to life anyway.. otherwise watching a bird completing it's nest right before it lays eggs, or watching a dog giving birth and then cutting off the spinal cords precisely is enough to have a basic understanding about how every creature is intelligent enough.. that's how they basically survived all these millions of years and still do, despite being hunted, used for our fun, and literally getting their habitats completely fucked up and their entire survival system going upside down due to so many changes.. I was just responding to someone here who had the same old attitude 'wild animals are dangerous' and I saw your post too, wanted to respond.. here's what I wrote to that dude in case you are interested and yes sorry for my rant lol ----- "Be honest, how many years of your life have you actually spent with wild animals? I used to trek through the jungles back in my teenage, what I have noticed is entirely different.. even wild animals will respect you if you respect them and not panic or consider them as threats, because they are sensitive to it.. if they sense fear they go for you just because it's what they know, for them.. fear means it's a fight. Many times I had to rest in between, and many times I woke up with snakes hanging off my back and above me on the branches.. apart from many encounters with other large animals, nothing really ever bothered me and now that I think about it, it was only because I wasn't taught to look down on other creatures, or if they were dangerous.. I knew what they could do, and I understood why.. it's all they know and need to do in order to survive.. one thing was always clear to me, if there's something truly dangerous it's me.. because my kind would shoot a majestic beast from a mile out and then skin that life for a rug.. nothing else seemed to be that fucked up in the head according to me lol my point here in short is that an ass kicking from a wild animal doesn't fall out of the fucking sky, you fuck with them.. they tend to respond.. it's all that has ever happened, in every situation.. whether it's due to invading their habitat, or taking away their natural food sources in forms of livestock and shit or simply caging the animal and trying to train them for shows and what not.. and everything that gets in our way or falls into our interest goes close to extinction in a matter of years, and I think it's time we at least start admitting that nothing out there is dangerous.. everything simply wants to live, when threatened it will respond to make sure it survives.. like riding a motorcycle where you are willing to pay the price in terms of a mishap for a great experience that you prefer, similarly I am sure this guy knows his shit too but still wants to look beyond himself which is a good quality.. soon if we keep reproducing like rabbits even after bringing our lifespans from 30 to nearly 70 in the last century, we will have to either keep wild animals under protection or they will simply be wiped out.. there are no two ways about it.. and luckily the genius folk who actually give a fuck about how we happen and live in the first place know how crucial even an earth worm is for us to be here and actually experience this planet and our family and friends in this shell of the soil we call our bodies.. I only hope we don't fuck up too much and actually start being responsible so our future generations can actually enjoy life instead of being locked up in cans with ventilators on all the time."

Luckily, these folk aren't the ones from the lot who don't care about anything else apart from their stomach and their offspring.. they are willing to provide for a life that could do better with their support.. in whatever way they can, in this case.. this cat. What's the big deal? Sooner or later we will have to co exist anyways or we will simply wipe them out and along with ourselves too because science tells us how we can't survive many major species of animals and insects, because we are chewing on their habitats with our god given multiplication ideologies.. If the extremely rare, inconsequential snap Zack respond with, were delivered by Messi, it could very well be close to life-threatening, & very Messi, indeed. Another very important point is the weaker felines can survive, yes but they have greater tendency to attack human or their pets, farms etc. For ex: in india, a smaller than normal tigress developed habit of attacking people instead of hunting the bigger mammals, deers etc and caused tens of people to die in a couple of years and she had to be killed. This is best for him.

@@Rat-Builder yea,I just worry about the bigger picture of all wild animals,if too many ppl having wild animals as pets can quickly become a dangerous problem so I don't like seeing this.

Messi wouldn't have survived in the wild w/ his physical problems, therefore, it's the right thing to do keeping him as a pet under medical and family care supervision. He needs care. This couple gives him what he needs, they give him everything he needs and more. They love him, and Messi loves them. They are his family. With them is where Messi should be. Not out in the woods alone, where he wouldn't survive. Simple as that.

I think they saved his life. So much love!! When animals cannot survive in the wild this is a beautiful way to go.

Granted , he's still a wild cat , but they saved him from a possible certain death out in the wild . Sometimes wild animals need our help , that's not too much to ask for at times .

I would not recommend taming a wild animal, but these two people were able to take the proper time and care which is remarkable.

None of anybody's business, you take great care of that cat. If he's just gonna die in the wild anyway, why not, people are just jealous...sad but true.

So true.. he will live a long life and well cared for. He has lots of stimulation, well Mannered. His interaction with people and the learning experience being sharred is priceless. One can see this is a tammed animal which one can see could be harmful if not tame from the beginning. She demonstrates love and affection and never rough play or anger as that is how she has been brought up.

Mr Messi is a wonderful, adorable and loving little cougar. He is smart, very well trained and poses no threat to his ‘parents!’ It’s unconditional love on both sides, I agree that wild animals shouldn’t be kept as house pets, however in this situation it’s very different circumstances. Mr Messi rocks!
