I've been binge-watching conversion builds with intentions of buildng my own. I'm 60 and ready to hit the road. As a woman I've done almost every trade it takes to build a house. Well, other than electrical and plumbing. Eager to go really artsy & crafty with mine to reflect my artistic self. Especially a tile mosaic shower. As soon as I can get back on my feet *starting over* I'll be looking hard for a shorter van than yours. The two of you are extremely blessed to have found one another and taken this step together. @@TravisTravels BTW, while your camera work was excellent, story and doc format awesome, oddly enough my main complement was mastering the audio with your wireless lav with a wind muff/foamie - definitely saved the day in the face of a harsh wind.

I am so sorry for your loss, I can't even begin to imagine what that is like for you. I have 2 sons, 26 and 22 so I really feel for you. Your van looks awesome and hope you both make amazing memories in it. We are just putting the finishing touches to our fiat ducato (your ram promaster) before we set off. We will be doing odd weeks and weekends to start with then full time in the future. We are in Oz so no travel restrictions as we have been very fortunate with covid. My hubby of 30 years is a carpenter so has done the most amazing job of our van, every detail I asked for has been done. ( I took many little tips and ideas from hundreds of youtube videos) How lucky are we to have talented men in our lives. Happy and safe travels to you both. I look forward to following you x.

I'm a wood Smith i been working on exotic woods for over 50 years. From furniture to guitars To houses i built it all..and on my first van built that I designed my self i told my wife the same thing. To me it was going to be a walk in the park. Well it was a huge park lol..then again I like building something that no body has..so Plus I'm a perfectionist everything has to be perfect..that made it worse for me...I built a van conversion with flouting cabinets yes flouting cabinets not touching the floor. On a van come on!! But I did it...it was a master pcs With a full bath Stove oven. Game consoles tv microwave And wacher dryer combo..a soraund home theater system. What a project..have way i wanted To quit my wife told me I told you But you didn't listen..now you going to finish it...so I did. It was a one of a kind van built. But my nephew lives in Germany Came to visit..and felt in love with the van..offer me an outstanding amount of money for it.. And that was the last time i seen the van..now I'm starting a new one I'm drawing the design. is going to be another 170 extended sprinter..and I'm taking it to another level...no paint what so ever..just natural woods..floor ceiling walls cabinets all exotic woods..but my wife don't know 😕 So don't tell her please. I'm buying the van on may. When they deliver the van she will know. Wish me luck 🙏 thanks

I really recommend van living as single if you are not married more than 5 years. With the recent suicide of Lee I think younger can lifers need to rethink coupling in a Van especially if they still need to figure out their lives

Ummm I’m going to disagree completely on this. Lee suffered from a mental health disorder her entire life. Not everyone has this. She struggled for years even with Max. I did vanlife alone for a year and I can say for me. I’d much rather do it with someone than alone. But that’s just me, I prefer to share my experience with someone than do it alone. Lots of people do it alone. But it really really depends on the person if one way is better than the other.

Young van lifers that know that need to be careful especially when they put themselves under a lot of pressure with a relationship for the whole world to see. That adds extra stress to the mental health of individual. people need to be more aware and careful

I live on my own and FaceTime with a therapist every other week for my depression. The pandemic triggered loneliness and depression to a degree id assume is very similar since you are basically alone and confined in your own space/vehicle for long periods of time.
