I have a Gypsy Vanner/Paint Horse. First off, Gypsy are very rare where I live, makes more sense that way. He is five years old learning dressage and jumps 3'3'' and Gypsy Vanners are also stocky horses but we don't have problems at all and he could go higher but he's still training. So, don't ASSume things.

I'm not sure if your at the same page as I am. A Paint is a stock horse, not a warmblood. Pinto is any horse with coloring other than a stock horse.

I know plenty of horses who cannot be ridden without them shaking their head. My old horse Max was one of those "types" of horses. He shook his head no matter what I rode him in, wether that be with or without a bit, even with a halter and leadrein he would headshake.
@makenabloebaum99566 жыл бұрын
he isn't doing it as bad... its because he wants to jump... I used to ride a GP horse who rears whenever he hers the buzzer, they like their jobs

Nice debate on the abilities of horses that are not Thoroughbreds or Warmbloods, but the gray horse is wearing ear coverings. The fabric is clearly visible as the horse goes over some of the jumps. All in all again a nice view from the rider's seat.
@makenabloebaum99566 жыл бұрын
ummm 'ear coverings' lol. its called a bonnet, its an accessory for the jumpers and sometimes theres ones to help block out sound for sound reactive horses..

I didn't say he always does 'everything' correctly. In this video, he is correcting the horse the way the horse needs to be corrected. How do you know hes even pulling if you cannot see his arms. He is half halting with his body through his arms and connecting the horse to the aids. What did I say that is so unbelievable? And my horse doesn't ride bitless because he can't he isnt that type of horse.

@adriennedavis91909 жыл бұрын
My trainer is not a trainer that rushes. She takes her time so that I can perfect my eq on 1 ft jumps then move up to 2ft then 3ft. Just as Billie said, many trainers are different. Your trainer might teach faster than mine. I've been riding for now almost 3 years and I jump 2-2'3.

No you haven't. No grand prix rider or owner would ever use a paint horse. Ever. Period. Paint horses are Western horses. PINTO horses, however, can be any breed where the genetics allow for the coloration. What you saw was a PINTO WARMBLOOD. Paint is a breed. Pinto is a color.

This is more the horse bumping into the riders aids. I have ridden bitless before and the horses still get their heads up and shake. When they enjoy their job they tend to get ahead of themselves so the riders use their body and aids to tell the horse to slow down, a small half halt with the fingers/hands and the horse bumps into the aids. This is a professional 3DE rider, who I have seen compete. Believe me he is doing nothing wrong.

Horses will shake their heads when ridden bitless it happens.

Well...my english is fucking bad, but i try to express what I mean. Of cause I know that the horse shakes its head because the rider is holding it back. But if he's pulling so strong, that his horse starts headshaking, the poor thing has a lot of pain in its mouth. Shaking the head isn't normal, it's always a signal of a way to hard rider-hand.

The horse cant do anything else than shaking his head. on the one hand it is running in full speed into a jump. on the other hand, it knows what it feels like to something else. The ride would hit it witha crop or ram his spores into its belly. no horse ver would shake his head because of enthusiasm. it would be concentrated on the jump.

@Pupsbubble12 жыл бұрын
just because he's called a "professional rider" doesn't mean he's doing everything right. Hes pulling to strong, that's all. by the way... show me video of your horse, when you ride bitless and it's shaking its head. I cant belive what you said. My pony never shakes his head, even when i ride with a bit.. Sorry for my bad english :/
@knowitallabouthorses11 жыл бұрын
No. I don't think Doug has a paint horse.
@Pupsbubble12 жыл бұрын
Thanks for answer (but you said "its from pain" - thats what i think, and than you explain why the horse shakes its head and that its not caused from pain...so). But to but weight/balnces to the haunches the horse must not shake his head so agressive. I maintain my opinion: the horse shakes his head because of pain in the mouth. Nothing else. of cause the rider holds him back, but he does it so strong that he hurts his horse.

Hey just practice. :) I'm sure you can canter properly. Give yourself confidence.
@courtneyturner31969 жыл бұрын
What's with all this 'head shaking' business. All horses do it. This horse is obviously excited about jumping and is shaking its head because it wants to jump! Just enjoy the video, stop analysing everything.
@TheNonMakeupGuru9 жыл бұрын
+Tracey Turner Actually. When a horse is throwing around its head its normally due to irritation not excitement. If it has something on its face of the bridle is to tight. Or if the rider is being to heavy on the horses mouth
@aiscoakley65597 жыл бұрын
or it's just cause their cantering and their head has to move with their body too.. also turning and flexion all that
@anacsmari7 жыл бұрын
it's mostly because of the rider's hand's pressure. Please go educate yourself, that sounds very stupid.
@makenabloebaum99566 жыл бұрын
omg why do u have to say its because the rider is pulling too hard or being heavy, a gp rider like Doug Payne (worldly known) would not be pulling too hard maybe u bc you are clearly unexperienced but not Doug, he is too advanced for that. don't act like you know everything about horses when you probably cant even ride one or do anything well involving a horse.
@Sebras9912 жыл бұрын
You mean like here: 1:20 to like 1:26 ?? Its from pain,its the horse picking up his head,and pushing his weight and balance onto his haunches so he CAN jump these Massive fences.. If you notice, after he lands his head goes down, and Doug has to sit up and ask him to pick his head up to rock onto his haunches to jump again. really simple... some Show Jumper's horses DO shake their heads, because their riders are holding them back and they love it so much they want to go faster, but not here.
@makenabloebaum99566 жыл бұрын
u have no clue about horses then... horses will have to put their head 'down' to be able to jump this big... its putting them in a frame giving them an easier way to jump such heights. in no way would an experienced rider be pulling too hard... maybe an unexperienced person like you but no GP rider like him.
@03firefly12 жыл бұрын
I don't the the issue is color. The issue is breed. You wont see a paint horse. A pinto, yeah, sure, but not a paint.
@TheTorKirky11 жыл бұрын
could you please have a look at my page then i have two coloured horses a skewbald and a dun skewbald and they are both english riding horses the skewbald has competed to 1.30m with the previous owner and has done 1.10m with me and could you please look at showtym viking and amanda wilson 14.2hh pony doing world cup rounds now tell me are they still western/stock horses no its just a colour
@Pupsbubble12 жыл бұрын
okay. we should stop samming around here... In my opinion, esspecially in the higher classes of horseriding, violence is a often used way to make a horse submissive. Maybe the whole rider with his horse (not just the horses haed) sould be watched. Then we would be able to evaluate in a better way..
@katieoneill693011 жыл бұрын
You are just being an arse here. My sister did prelim on a registered american paint horse, he was 17hh and lanky and could jump ANYTHING. He was not your stock cutting horse APHA... dont knock nice people with you snide uppity warmblood comments. Id ride a thoroughbred over a warmblood anyday, we dont need to import all of these 'superior' horses into a country where we have a bountiful OVER-stock of healthy, athletic, strong creatures.
@Pupsbubble12 жыл бұрын
yeah...it isnt full speed. its an exaggeration,i know. But try something: take the bit out of you horse mouth an make a few jumps. It wont skake his head. the shaking is caused by the rider and a wrong use of the bit. That's right, and i think you are clever enough to understand it.
@Pupsbubble12 жыл бұрын
He's not the type of horse....okay. Than take an other one and show me that it shakes his head while you ride bitless. And if you have got some time, seach for "Karen Rohlf" here on KZbin or Google... She rides bitless a lot and i think it might be good if you would see, that every horse can be ride without a bit...
