The big trick for getting portals into the stronghold portal room, which saves massive amounts of time, is that what angle you are looking when you go through can affect what y value the portal appears at. That might have allowed you to portal from the surface in this run.

I knew how to do these things more then he did when this first started, but yet he still got his first PB faster then me, and quickly became one of the best runners. My pb WAS 3.5 minutes faster though, mostly from an entry around 3.5 minutes faster. I'm usually faster with stronghold splits but my run specifically I ended up thinking one area was the starter staircase when it wasn't, and ended up searching the wrong place.

few questions, they might sound dumb 1. Why did you get rid of the shield? 2. Why couldn’t u use wood in the bastion?

1. shield was needed for blazes, and then may mess you up in the end ('cos blowing up beds uses right click, and shield may take the click for itself if you have wrong timing). So it's better to get rid of the shield somewhere in between when you remember about it 2. in RSG runs wasting wood in nether is kind of a bad thing as you may get stuck without being able to recreate your tools for example. + wood burns, and nether is very much a fire place. And I think it wasn't related specifically to this SSG run, and was just him reacting automatically to this very RSG situation

Couriway you should run different set seeds for different types of runs. So like one seed will be for ocean strats, one will be normal, one pirate strats etc. you get the idea. I think I’d be really cool to see how you do all the different types of runs and it can show how you can run a world in different situations Edit: a oh and then compare to see with the best possible situations which style is the fastest method, though it won’t be 100% accurate as some seeeds will be better then others

I would actually like to see a video where you just speedrun the first seed you get, even if it’s bad, without checking it out in advance and at the first attempt just to see how that would go.
