For those who are getting the "A hybrid GPT was detected" when Entering a command of "sudo fdisk /dev/sda"... What I did to get it fixed was by ending the lab session 5 times until I got the "Sorry, your quota has been exceeded for this lab". On the same page where you can select the Green button of "Start Lab" > Click the "?" sign > Click "Chat Support". Describe the issue by typing, "Sorry, your quota has been exceeded for this lab". The Qwiklab tech support will reset the Lab session limit. And after that, I restarted the lab and the "A hybrid GPT was detected" issue was gone. Hope this helped.

For those who are getting the "A hybrid GPT was detected" when Entering a command of "sudo fdisk /dev/sda"... I reached out to Chat Support and they gave me the step by step work around and I was finally able to get thru this...Please follow the instructions properly (This is exactly how they sent to me word for word) Task 1: Type below mentioned commands in Linux Terminal lsblk Now please look for the -vroot 253:0 if its in -sda Use this command sudo fdisk /dev/sdb If -vroot 253:0 is in sdb Use this command sudo fdisk /dev/sda Now you will be able to see output Command (m for help): Now please enter d and hit enter button two times Now you will be able to see output Partition number (1-12, default 12): Now repeat the same steps (Now please enter d and hit enter button two times) Until you get the output No partition is defined yet! Be patient, you can do it. I was very frustrated, double check your "sda/sdb" and MAKE SURE they are correct, if they arent use the opposite one. I ended up reaching the quota limit and having to contact support to reset. Took my time, following this video, while also double checking on the lab itself if they are SWAPPED. I managed to get through it

But if you see the /etc/hosts on sda1, then use sda for everything meaning @3:53 in the video, you'll use sudo fdisk -l /dev/sda instead of sudo fdisk -l /dev/sdb and so on until you get to the "Mount and Unmount" part of the exercise then you start replacing all the [second drive] with sdb. It seems they changed this exercise somewhat. The prompt they offer to copy is different and there is a different issue, where the "sudo fdisk -l" step produces a different result than what the instructions show we should get. On the following step, the "sudo fdisk -l /dev/-sdb1" results in : fdisk: cannot open /dev/-sdb1: No such file or directory

Thanks for your help. This lab is a NIGHTMARE! WHY do they not have more "check your progress" checkpoints? There are like 20 different steps before you get to the first "check your progress". So if you do something wrong, how are you supposed to know where you made the mistake? It's almost impossible to go back through all those steps and figure it out. They need to throw this lab in this trash. It's absolutely ridiculous.

Only type the commands she types. This fools at google min 1:15. Ignore the text and follow in min 5:08. Use /dev/sda, instead of /dev/[Second Drive] . Further ahead, formatting the partitions, use /dev/sda2 instead of /dev/[Second Drive]2. It's pretty straight forward. Post back if having issues.

Didn't want to deal with the frustration due to my sdb and sda bind swapping. I also had the mount and unmounted, not 1st and second drive lol. So much has changed and this course is OLD. You are amazing! Thanks a bunch!

I was pressing letter 'l' instead of number '1', because I thought the command was letter 'l' all along; where you have to choose default 1 or 2, until I listened to this video. You should also check your second drive, mine was sda instead of sdb, so I typed sda instead of sdb in the command. I hope this helps 🙏

I am geting this massage after i enter sudo fdisk -l GPT PMBR size mismatch (18874524 != 20971519) will be corrected by write. The backup GPT table is not on the end of the device. This problem will be corrected by write. for this massage iam not going further... :( any solution

Judging by viewcount this assignment seems to have stumped EVERYONE. Your closest video has only 3.5k views compared to 20k for this one. I logged on last night and it was fixed. The disk that was mounted was sda, and the 2nd one was sdb. I knew I was doing it right

To anyone still having difficulties, use the costumer chat support. They have a video that shows a work around video. If you have tried following this video, switching your drives and it still doesn't work. Use the video they will send you.

Yeah, I am still stuck at the point where I am copying and pasting the link: sudo fdisk /dev/[SECOND DRIVE], onto Linux's prompt page, however, I keep getting the same message of "Try 'fdisk --help' for more information." I am going to contact customer support on that. This would not be my first rodeo in dealing a video like this either. I've had to do that with two other videos, from my recollection.
