That was so beautiful to watch. These people put so much hard work and effort to ensure that the court looks as beautiful as it does. A lot of work goes into a grand slam so a big shout out to everyone involved in making the grand slams and all tennis events possible.

I love the bright blue courts of the Australian Open - the colour gives the tournament such an upbeat and positive energy. Can't wait for the Open to begin - I feel it is wide open in both men's and women's side. Also, kudos to these guys who go through this labour-intensive process of creating the perfect surface.

Yes, we all that money Tennis federation should take some clues from the Olympics to have a world body in preparing events. An automated machine can easily perform a much better job ( consistency over wide area). It is a real sore eyes.
@fjalls7 жыл бұрын
I think its a great fact the the play on hand painted courts. Its like eating hand baked bread or a factory baked one.
@swindpendulum87607 жыл бұрын
Josh D Probably 3 people or more full time job going around the world with the "machine" on airfreight plane etc... you are not talking replacing a painter here!!. Have a look at the Olympic costs?. WTA Tennis tournament happen about every second weeks or less, that a lot of work with a dozen of courts to remake for each tournament.

The court coatings are a science , and application is a art. Rewarding service and great job by these guys. Don’t think a machine like someone has mentioned will ever take a humans place resurfacing a court. Clearly they don’t know the process and no two courts are the same

On May 30, 2007, the Australian Openand Tennis Australia announced Plexicushion as the new Australian Open surface, replacing the Rebound Ace surface that had been in use since Melbourne Park was opened in 1988. The surface was installed in time for the 2008 Australian Open, and was accompanied by a change in surfaces at the lead-up tournaments to the Australian Open. Plexicushion is based out of Andover, Massachusetts

As a former painter to get through college, the blue court is an art form. But throwing paint over take and hoping it doesn't go through is pure luck, even the best tapes leak which is why most painters either don't use tape or paint as if it isn't there for the best lines
