It's a trope that will *never* not work. The Courtesan homegirl here has experience with people equal to ten psychology Ph.Ds and immediately sees a kindred spirit in the Listener in need of healing (and exactly her type). She literally goes 'I can make you feel again if you let me' and idk about you but if a woman looking like that told me something similar I'd be on my knees proposing.

@@midnightworldASMR I ABSOLUTELY AGREE WITH YOU, PARTNER 🗣🙏🏻 Tbh just her graceful look and gentle touch would have me worshipping her faster than speed of light.

I like to think the listener is a soldier, an officer in the US Army during the Civil War or a British, German, or American officer in WW1. The war is getting to them and they feel sad and guilty for their lost friends and comrades and the troops that died under their command. She's there to help our listener feel human again.

I didn't specify what the cause of the Listener's heartbreak is, so that's a perfectly plausible scenario. Either way, they've closed themselves off and she's the perfect person to soften them/make them smile again~

@@midnightworldASMR I just love those kind of romance stories where one is sad and hopeless and alone and then someone helps them back up through their discovered love.

@@AOT_HxH95 they do have that 'flower that bloomed in darkness' poetic flare. I love these stories too.

The most famous courtesan was mata hari who was tried for espionage for Germany but her trail was an injustice forge evidence was used and her defense attorney was not allowed to question or cross examine the witnesses it was a show trail and she was made the scapegoat for the death of 50,000 french soldiers
