Dr. Bryant T. Marks, associate professor of Psychology at Morehouse College, delivers a training on implicit bias in the criminal justice system context. This video guides viewers through the foundations of implicit bias, real-world examples, why it exists and its effects (especially on racial minorities), and how it can be measured. The training also gives viewers concrete strategies to reduce bias in one's own practice.

A really intelligent and interesting conversation about this important topic... but I can't help but feel that there's a bias in the online surveys towards people who don't have TBIs or brain processing issues. Not sure why saying that clicking on images accurately measure bias... could you please explain what the design of the studies that determine what means bias and what doesn't imply bias?

If you have a issue with it, it because it made you uncomfortable

The idea that human being without bias is not only impossible but very dangerous. Those who can’t differentiate friend from foe will not survive. Stereotypes exist because a significant amount of people in the group confirm to it, so it’s a shortcut. If there’s a stereotype a group of people are cannibals and you choose to ignore it and treat them without bias you’d most likely end up being their dinner.

Unfortunately there has been 0 experimentally proven method to decrease implicit bias. Most concerning is that many interventions that claim to decrease implicit bias, actually increase it.

Had to sit through an all day “class” from this guy. He did a good job presenting the material. I personally found him annoying thou. What I took from it is...blacks need to put pressure on the few blacks who live up to their stereotype.
