This is the magic of Courtney. She can take songs, cover them, change the genre and make them her own. This was indeed a Tina Turner song, that was a Rock song in the mid 80s. Courtney strips it back, and turns it into an emotional ballad, done only the way that she can do it.

Hi! Great reaction. This Courtney performance is absolutely amazing for so many reasons. The incomparable vocal talent goes without saying. No one in current (or past) music can keep up with Courtney in that regard. However, it's also the creativity. Look at what she did with this iconic song. She actually turned the first half of 'What's Love Got To Do With It' into almost a ballad. This song was released nearly 39 years ago and has been covered by so many great names and yet, it took Courtney to envision that this song could be performed this way. Many singers can do a cover and copy the original. Few can turn a cover into a totally new song and Courtney does it repeatedly on every cover she has released. As iconic as this song is, I believe this cover is at least as good as the original. However, since Courtney slowed down the pace and added her own twists, there is no need to make such a comparison. The two versions (original and Courtney's) can stand side by side as two spectacular takes on the same song. I believe Tina Turner would truly love this version as well as being quite proud that someone as gifted and special as Courtney is carrying on her musical legacy to a new generation.

She had just taken up the guitar fairly recently when she posted this but she caught on quick. Tina Turner didn't write that but it's part of Courtney's Tina Grand Slam: Nutbush City Limits for her blind audition on Voice Kids UK at 12 years old (Tina did write that one, about her home town); River Deep Mountain High in the AGT finals at 14 (by producer Phil Specter and his team); This one (by Graham Lyle and Terry Britten) sometime around her 16th birthday; and Proud Mary (originally a Credence Clearwater Revival song) celebrating her 18th birthday at a "Hawaiian karaoke bar" in Turkey😃

I am so enjoying your reaction videos on Courtney Hadwin ! I've been following this young lady since she was 9 years old and she's now 19 ! She has grown so much in her singing, personality and her stage presence is incredible to anyone who sees her. I look forward to your further reactions to this wonderful young lady . This should have been another series of great covers. Just after this release Courtney switched from KZbin to Tik Tok. She did a number of great covers but only as 30 second clips too short to get the full song. They included ' Sweet Child of Mine', ' Cry', ' Please, Please, Please ', ' Whose Loving You?', 'Creep', ' Here Comes the Sun', .... I don't know why she stopped the Quarantine Series.
