I'm now in my sixties and I find things much harder than when I was younger. I was far more resilient, hopeful and optimistic in my 20s and 30s. These days I find people generally less kind than ever before, self absorbed and just on edge and scary. The media landscape is horrifying, entertainment is usually violent and fatalistic and popular culture more competitive and vulgar than ever. Glad for you ladies, but what happy pills are you on -- because I need some!
