Why? What do you think they're doing in prison?? They're not in a hotel. They eat mush, have no unobserved interaction with their loved ones, live with the knowledge they'll never again see anyone or anything they love without bars separating them, and don't even have regular access to showers. Forcing someone to live in a cage for the rest of their life is a lot less merciful than death.

For those who are confused what happened: there was an Accident involving a nine-year-old girl where this driver was not watching and accidentally hit this nine-year-old girl and this girl when she was hit by the car went flying through the air in her neck landed on the side of a curb, causing her eyes to pop out of her head and she broke her neck and she broke multiple other bones in her body, and she was rushed to the hospital, and after 15 days of waiting in the hospital, she sadly passed away.

Ik it seems like the better option but in reality, it’s worse as long as they don’t get out early. If you get the death penalty, you get sweet release and don’t really have to be shamed or really have to face to your consequences unless it’s in your last moments. Life sentences can cause someone to even go crazy because they realize they’ll never be able to go back to their old lives of somewhat freedom and will rot and die slowly in a hell where they’ll most likely also get beaten up repeatedly. Honestly, death penalty is going to easy on them where life sentences can cause them to realize, even if they don’t regret it, ultimate confined hell will be brought down on them. (I am currently studying the mind and psychology so this is what I think and some of what I’ve researched.)
