The REAL moral of the story is be careful with the amount of pressure you put on children. These stories rarely turn out good and it’s not necessarily due to lack of talent. Middle school rankings aren’t meaningless because the players turn out to be bums, they’re meaningless because it gives status to those who are too young for it. Let them play and develop and then let rankings and evaluations come out, no need for that at 12 years old

All this proves is that the current amateur basketball environment is trash. All of these kids ended up being bums compared to the hype they had. Bums with little to no education. Maybe 2 of them will have an average NBA Career after which they’ll be broke because they didn’t learn anything besides iso ball.
