Also the third Chhatrapati Rajaram raje bhonsle were married to Maharani Tarabai, who was the daughter of his mama Hambirrao Mohite. For example Manusmriti 3.5 clearly says असपिण्डा च या मातुरसगोत्रा च या पितुः । सा प्रशस्ता द्विजातीनां दारकर्मणि मैथुने ॥ ५ ॥ that A girl who doesn't belong to 6 to 7 generations of Maternal side and has no gotra relation with the Paternal family is a good choice for marriage. There are some shruti pramanas too.
